    If they would do a deal with deng and picks as the centerpiece than we would be idiotic to not go for Carmelo. That would be perfect for us. However, even NYK's stupidity has limitations and they would never do it. I'd rather get Landry Fields.

    Let's see. Knicks were OK before the trade with a decent amount of young talent. Got him, didn't win as many games. Melo got hurt, Lin took over, they won a lot of games this year. Melo came back they started losing. NYC hates him. So his value won't be much lower than it is right now. And look at the schedules during the winning streak (NJ, Utah, Washington, LAL, Minn, Toronto, Sac) versus the losing streak (Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Philly, Chicago). Can we at least agree that Carmelo would be a clear upgrade over Deng. And if so, why not even bring up the idea with New York in basically crisis mode? Carmelo is the most overrated player in the league. I have no interest in trading for him.

    I was at the one game playoff, it was a lot of fun, I remember everyone staying in their seats and dancing around after they won. I also remember Beck having absolutely nothing left and still getting the save. I was also at the home games in 1989, those weren't very much fun.

    Same here ... Easterling does have some NFL potential, though, and I thought I had heard that football was his first love. That said, he's more a depth/slot return man option, and draft wise, more of a mid-late round type value, unless he really blows up his senior year and gets better football workout numbers than people are expecting right now. Just as a side note, I spent grades 2 - 12 in Taiwan. Graduated and came to the mainland. Wouldn't that mean China?

    Andrew Friedman and Brian Cashman are not signed beyond this year. Friedman would probably be tough to get away from Tampa, but maybe he wants a bigger payroll to play with. Cashman might be sick of being overruled by ownership and want his own big market team to run. Either would be fine choices. Getting Friedman would make me a Ricketts fan for life. Give him whatever he wants.

    Nice gesture, but I wonder why they don't do these things in the last round of the draft.
