  1. I would guess that there will be a pretty high rate of people turning down the opportunity. There's a reason they emailed at least 19-20k people. Checked my number, I'm at 15000. Hopefully my number won't get called this year.
  2. I got the email too, don't remember where I was in line. I assume nothing will be left for the people in the 10000 range?
  3. This thread turned out way better than I thought it would.
  4. No insight, just from a critical thinking standpoint, I don't think we have enough information to say that he's having more trouble than usual in the field. I just thought the back to back 2 error games at SS coupled with his 2 error game at 3B was a reason for worry. It is a pretty small sample and 33% of his errors have come at third base. I wouldn't read anything into it yet. He's working on a new fielding stance.
  5. I really hate Dusty Baker.
  6. He has plenty of time to roid up before he comes back.
  7. He's a 30 year old journeyman of 12 pro seasons. He's the consummate AAAA roster filler/7 starter. What were his stats in the DSL this season?
  8. It's 40 degrees more pleasant in the winter and 20-30 in the summer. Weather is one of the main reasons I don't live in Chicago anymore.
  9. Yeah, the weather here is much better than Chicago.
  10. He's like a shark, he has to keep posting or he'll drown.
  11. Agreed. I love chili with spaghetti.
  12. It's been a good few weeks for him, with this and the Reed Johnson trade.
  13. "KLAW, out of curiosity would you rather have Randall Delgado than Vizcaino?" "K_Law Vizcaino, by a mile."
  14. If we could get Jurrjens out of the deal, that would be great. As bad as he's been this year, he has another under team control and I can't imagine anyone not being happy with him as the throw in. Flyer!
  15. Even with Rose, this team would be much worse next year. They have severely downgraded their bench, very disappointing offseason.
  16. Me too, stop messing with us!
  17. He hit a home run tonight, sell high!!
  18. You should have known. It's the place they filmed home run derby. http://www.hulu.com/watch/166981 I love that show.
  19. I wonder how much Theo is actually involved in that? Is it like a "Co-GM" situation? Or do they just meet about things and then Theo lets Jed actually do the trade haggling? Does Jed have to run a big trade through Theo first? Just curious about the logistics. Based on an interview I saw/read earlier this season with Jed Hoyer, he stated that they basically split the duties based upon which one has a better relationship with the GM they are dealing with. It also sounded like they try to build a consensus on decisions. I think it is safe to assume that Theo has final say. So we all agree that Jed will do the initial haggling and then Theo will finalize the deal. Kind of like a car salesman and the boss. So, no coffee for Jed?
  20. Agreed, he just embarrassed people in that game.
