Schmidt Zito Ervin Hill Westbrook We'd have perhaps the best middle infield cheap for 6 years, a very good young pitcher, we'd sign an ace to nearly replace Z's productivity and his rapidly escalating salary, and a very highly touted pitching prospect. wow did JH make some moves last night i'm not aware of yet

    Me too. I remember when Sammy came to Jackson for his rehab assignment. For the record, some of the stories that circulated about him being a jerk on that assignment couldn't have been any further from the truth. Rasin?

    every report i heard, was not an elbow problem, was a shoulder problem, and IIRC i remember it being likened to K Woods shoulder trouble

    i'm not sure how much of a gamble it is counting on Theriot to outproduce those two...its a bet i'd make 6 days a week and twice on sunday...remember we're talking about Cedeno and Izturis

    2 years is 1(maybe 2) years too many for Maddux, as much as i love the guy, he's just too old to be counted on(shoot he's 4 years older than me and im a decrepid old man). i'd prefer Padilla over Meche based on the limited stats ive looked at, better K/BB, better WHIP, signifigantly less HR's...also, i've always thought moderatly highly of Padilla's stuff(having first noticed him in 2001), but never particularly even noticed Meche's (although that could easily be attributed to the fact that he's always been in the AL.) Also i wonder what happened to Meche's 2001 and 2002 seasons and why he has never put up 200 innings in a season, is he damaged goods and if so, how damaged?

    Jerry was a close friend of my father's growing up and in college, i've met him several times at my home growing up, actually a really nice guy...other than the fact that i could probably get great tix for any game if he were the owner, i dont exactly know how i'd feel about him buying the cubs

    30 days I believe soccer. When is the offering arbitration deadline? Or has that passed? I don't see him signing before then. and we're what 5-6(?) days into that, BoSox gotta have the deal done b4 x-mas(re3ally earlier, but i dont know the exact dates), i can see him waiting that long
