Well Traylor tweeted that he was sad because his dog Sosa died, so that info wasn't hard to come by. And who wouldn't follow KU's 8th man on twitter? Especially when his tweets going back over the past week plus are as riveting as this: I guess they started with it at the last game in Ames and continued with it in the big 12 Tourney. Someone probably pulled up some KU players' twitter handles looking for some smack talk inspiration, saw the dog stuff, and ran with it.
