Well, step one of Charlie Weis's crazy JUCO experiment went well. All twenty (TWENTY!) of our juco recruits made it on to campus, and only one was arrested for robbing a drug dealer and was subsequently dismissed. That has to be some kind of record. Hopefully they can fill some holes and provide some depth.

The man got a taste for blood with Declan Sullivan and now will do anything to sate it.

Who else could they go after? Parsons? Terrence Jones? I imagine one of Asik/Lin or possibly both have to be in it to make the $$$ work. And then there's always more draft picks. I know it seems like people are saying "tank for Wiggins", but is he for real? I mean is he on the same level as LeBron/Durant or is it the hype making him better than he really is? I haven't followed high school basketball in so long so I don't really know how good Wiggins is. Experts are saying, Durant like talent. ...not quite LeBron. When i have seen him play on tv ( McD AA game and 1 reg season game), I've gotten the impression that he's more like Kidd Gilchrist with more natural scoring ability. Can do everything like LeBron but not as well. I think comparing anyone to KD or LeBron is crazy, as those guys are rare talents. From what I've seen and read, he's super athletic with good handles and insane body control. He's crazy good in transition, and he has all the tools to be a great defender. It's hard to get a read on his jumper because his highlight reels are almost all dunks, but it's allegedly a solid jumpshot that has improved steadily. As far as his style of play, a lot of KU fans compare his game to young TMac. There are questions about his killer instinct, since he's allegedly very humble. He also needs to get stronger. I don't see that being a problem. Genetically, he's a freak. His dad was an NBA player, his mom an Olympic sprinter.

Is this just from Illinois Scout, because I don't really buy that. it started on loyalty, but it came from a legit scout, apparently. No way. I find it very hard to believe both will land at UI. Particularly Okafor, who seems hell bent on playing with Tyus Jones. I think they land at Duke. Alexander...who knows. He could land anywhere. I thought I'd read UK and MSU were the likely destinations. I'm interested in this Myles Turner kid. Talk about coming out of nowhere.

Jerrance Howard is joining KU's staff. I know he has a great reputation as a recruiter. Do UI fans know how he is as a coach? He's replacing a guy who had a solid reputation as an instructor.

I figure he can be a poor man's Asik (last year's version) on defense and actually be able to catch the ball on offense. As for Crabbe, I know nothing about him at all (Like Saric, but I figure a 6'10'' SF is interesting and I've heard his name mentioned as a top intl prospect) but by Rasin's description he sounds like what Daequon Cook was supposed to be coming out of OSU which would be nice to have next to Rose He'll be able to catch it. I'm not sure you'll want to throw it to him, at least if you're expecting a traditional post-up move. He can finish well, though. He does have the ability to make short jumpers, though it's not something he did regularly.

I love Withey, but I have trouble seeing him as much more than a low-minutes defensive specialist. I don't think he's strong enough to really bang consistently. And he'll be an offensive non-factor.

Memphis graduate Tarik Black is transferring to KU for his final year of eligibility.

It was a surprise to me. I figured FSU or UK, though I thought UKs chances faded a bit after the all star games and after one of the Harrison twins talked smack about him in a video.
