  1. I really want Mizzou to get a legit coach. A Huggins or Majerus. The games are intense enough, now. But they're WILD when Mizzou is good. The Norm Stewart days were awesome. Plus, the B12North needs another player. I'm tired of the South getting all the hype. Let's get Huggins to KState and Majerus to Mizzou and get the B12North back on its feet.
  2. Agreed. Too awesome. Love Stoney. I forgot how excited Chip used to get, too. I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan when he was here, but now I kind of miss him, too.
  3. Wow. Not a lot of optimism on Woody's health. I guess I'm an idiot, as I'm still holding out hope for 25+ starts.
  4. Link. Thanks for the plugs, Vance. Overall, this camp is the most businesslike one I've seen in a few years. I know it's very early, but there is a quiet confidence building here. Now, as Soul says, they have to go out and do it when it counts. Stop it. You're going to ruin my pessimism.
  5. Actually, it seemed like he was saying the scouts were very impressed with them.
  6. He seems to think Prior has not/will not meet his potential. I'd like an explanation on that.
  7. I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't grow up in Chicago and be a fan of both teams. It's one or the other. It's probably stupid to think that way, but that's how I was raised. However, as a baseball fan, it's fine to watch and appreciate whatever game is on. Personally, I almost always watch Sox (and Cards) games when they're on. I just root against them. Hard.
  8. C-Barrett 1B-Pujols 2B-Walk SS-Lopez? 3B-A-Ram OF-Edmonds OF-Berkman OF-Bay SP-Z, Oswalt, Prior, Sheets, Carpenter Closer-Lidge SU-Gonzalez,Izzy I think it's pretty hard to argue Weeks is the best 2B in the div based on one mediocre 1/2 season. I'm not saying he won't be the best, but I need to see him produce.
  9. He magically turned into a Sox fan at the end of last year. Poser. Tell me it ain't so, :( He grew up a fan of both, he just preferred to go to Wrigley and watch the Cubs. He has gone to many Sox games over the years. Then he's not a Cub-fan.
  10. I don't get why it being an instinct move means anything. When George Constanza instinctively ran out of a smoke filled apartment by running over an old women and children, it was still a cowardly action. If an infielder saw that a runner was going to score, and he instinctively tripped him, would he not be called on it? And it wasn't as simple as you state. He wasn't just called out. He was called safe at first, and advanced on the bases. He protested when the call was eventually overturned and called correctly. Plus, it made for a fantastic photoshop opportunity. I'm not saying it wasn't weak. It was. But people have used that one play to villify him when it's pretty anomolous in his career. If you don't like ARod, fine. From a personal perspective, there are a few things about him I don't like. (ie. signing a huge contract and then complaining when the team can't fit other players in the budget). But for the most part, I think he plays the game the right way, and I think people hold that one play over his head too much.
  11. I've never really understood the heat ARod took for knocking the ball away. It was a total instinct move. He got called out. What's the big deal?
  12. It's really confusing why they wouldn't. It's not like you have to refer to obscure stats to see he's bad against LHP. His 3 yr BATTING AVERAGE is .238. I know Hendry/Baker understand that stat. Why are they willing to ignore it?
  13. I'm not a hate mail guy. And assuming it's true, I have a new least favorite player in the AL.
  14. He magically turned into a Sox fan at the end of last year. Poser.
  15. Yeah, Dusty would never play either of those....
  16. I have a new least favorite player in the AL.
  17. Didn't see the game, but ewvidently we got hammered by Texas. That should put to bed the unrealisitc expectations brewing in Lawrence.
  18. That was probably the worst final 12 minutes played by any team in Division I basketball this season, with the exception of the other 5 times Tech has done the exact same thing. 5 points in the last 12 minutes ? 7 ACC loses when leading at the half ? Brutal. You guys are having a tough year. Are you still happy with that coach from Siena? I am. It's tough to replace 88% of your offense and the top 6 players in minutes/game. No team in Division I has seen more minutes played by Freshman and Sophomores than Georgia Tech. I thought they'd be further along at this point with the level of talent on the roster, but I underestimated again, the importance of leadership at the point*. Look no further than the 9 losses by less than eight points this season --- 7 of those in ACC play. The reason Tech played for the Title two years ago was purely based on who handled the ball. This year, it's not happening. Tech is going to be a lot better next year adding two of the top players at their position, particularly Crittendon at the point. I think next year they will be a tournament caliber team without question. The following year they could be poised for the deep run. *see Wake Forest as well after Chris Paul's departure (2-10 in the ACC with basically everyone returning but Paul) You sure? I figure KU, UNC, and Memphis State give them a run for their $ in that stat.
  19. I'd need to see how Paws pitches in the minors before I'd consider trading him for Ronny. From what I've read, I've got very high hopes for Pawelek.
  20. I Thought UI got screwed a bit on that Randle call (though I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me happy). Regardless, UM deserved to win. Heck of a game by Augustine, though.
  21. KU pounds Mizzou by 30-something. At a loss to explain how we lost to them earlier in the season. I hope they get a good coach next year, because it's a fun rivalry when Mizzou is good.
  22. Might have something todo with the fact ISU has no post game and thus shoots a lot of jumpers. (They're one of the worst teams in the Big 12 w/ regards to getting to the line). Conversely, KU has plenty of bigs to toss it down to, adn they also penetrate more, which is why they shoot more FT. iowa state's offense is completely dependent on penetration. blaylock and stinson taking to the rim is their whole offense. they do chuck a lot of threes, but those mostly come from penetration or the threat of penetration. Did you wtch the game? OIutside of fast breaks and a few times the help d didn't rotate, ISU rarely took it to the rack. Mostly jumpshots or mid-range pull ups. Also, ISU missed the front end of a a few one and ones, which hurt their FT total. And again, ISU shoots fewer FTs than almost any team in the league. They're a jumpshooting team, despite Stinson and Blaylock's ability to penetrate.
  23. did I miss something? Where's Wooly?
