  1. Give me a cardinal collapse. Although, just my luck, it would happen right after I've moved out, so I can't even *truly* enjoy it.
  2. i don't like our chances at Neb. Our front 4 is getting no pressure.
  3. Tell yourself that..... Although our Offense looked like complete poo, our D is back, and REALLY good.... I about made that comment last week, but wanted to watch the Louisville game before I said anything. Our D is looking like the KSU of old. I hope it keeps going like it did today. We will dominate Big 12 offenses if so. Plus, pinkel likes to not put a good plan out vs the Cats! I was definitely not upset with today's performance on D.... Our offense does blow though. I say play Freeman and lets see what the kid can do. He does have a cannon from what I saw today. What was good about the defense today, the turnovers? I'm not trying to be argumentative, but looking at the boxscore(24 points, 400+ total yards, over 200 yards rushing, 69% completion percentage) it doesn't look like a terribly strong performance. Tangentially, I think Mizzou moved into the #1 spot in defensive YPG after today. [insert comment about how Mizzou's opponents have been garbage here] I'll tell you what's good about that. Holding the nation's #1 offense to 24 pts is one thing. They had 2 drives the entire game that were long drives. We shut them down, played fast, played aggressive, and tackled well. Hell, we even pressured them. The problem, and the reason for the 400 yards, is our pathetic offense. If the offense didn't make the d be on the field the entire game, and actually sustained a few drives, you would be shocked at how little offense the Louisville team gained. I'm quite happy with where our D is, but like I said, I'd play Freeman... .get the kid some PT since the redshirt is already burned, and prepare this team for the future. We'll definitely go to a bowl, so it can't hurt to get the kid game experience. The D will carry this team this year, they're going to be tough in the Big 12. Isn't UL missing its two best players, though? (QB and someone else?) I'm not saying KSU's D isn't solid, just curious. Is our game at Lawrence or Manhatten this year, btw?
  4. This only confirms to me how overrated ND is. Elite teams don't give up points like that D does. By the way, KU with the victory over powerhouse (undefeated) South Florida. Crappy bowl game still within reach.
  5. That Sullivan article is amazingly bad. His problem is he tries to hard to be clever/funny and makes no effort to bring anything insightful to the table. It ends up reading like he's lazy and doesn't take his job seriously. For people who take the Cubs and their struggles VERY seriously, that doesn't work.
  6. I laughed at "well-known football acquisitions." Good article.
  7. or the next david glass coiuld buy us.
  8. keep in mind, folks, that stat is out of LF, not overall players. Still impressive. He's 42nd overall.
  9. Take a look at the splits, TT. That was the most unclutch .345/.437/.707/1.144 you'll ever see.
  10. Like it or not, a healthy Prior is the key to getting to the postseason and advancing. Without him, we'll have to sign one of either Zito or Schmidt to have a legit top of the rotation. And while that's possible, the bidding will be high and fierce, and even if Hendry tries, we could get "Furcaled". Prior's the key. He's in-house, cheap, and when right, one of the best. Of course, the offense will need to be improved, too.
  11. I read that article and come away thinking even less of Jeter
  12. A park in the burbs is a terrible idea. Baseball is a public transport game, especially in Chicago, and especially with the Cubs. Moving to the burbs is for southern california teams and small cities with no city life. Ugh. Could you imagine heading out to Hoffman Estates or naperville or something for Cubs games? What a disaster. Whatever happens, the satdium needs to be in the city. Hoefully, when the time comes, they'll do something similar to the bears. Play in some temporary set-up while they rebuild on the Wrigley site.
  13. KU w/ a critical game for their bowl hopes. Must beat S Florida at home.
  14. What happened to Big XII sports? Granted, OU got robbed, but as a conference, we've been pretty bad. ANd aside from KU, A&M, and UT, the beat will go on in hoops.
  15. You don't want Rich Hill's sister to have your babies? I want Rich Hill's babies to have my sister.
  16. i do feel bad for ndistops, ccp, and adamwhatever, though. sucks when your team's struggles are being celebrated by everyone else.
  17. I hate Michigan, but this ND game is hilarious so far.
  18. plz win Sooners Hrm...interesting. May I ask why? Improve the resume of our opponents/conference. Same reason I was rooting for ISU over Iowa, and will be rooting for Tech over TCU. I have my limits though, I hope USC thrashes Nebraska, and really want to see Colorado start 0-8. I wanna be the only undefeated team in the North after tonight. I just generally dislike OU. As for Tech, I wanna see both of us undefeated at 5-0 and ranked in the top 25 when we face each other. Hopefully it'll be on national TV. K-State is at 3-0 after beating Marshall. Looks like you're gonna get that OU loss though, they look terrible in the early going in a hostile environment. I wouldn't really worry about K-State. If I had to rank the teams in the B12N, I'd go: 1. Missouri 2. Nebraska 3. ISU 4. KU 5. KSU 6. CU There could probably be some shuffling 3-5, but generally, I'd view Neb as Mizzou's real competition
  19. KU looking mediocre. Down 3 on a 4 and 15 td pass. ugh. I just don't see us winning this game.
  20. It's time to bring back Mack newton.
  21. I am supposed to be but since I got hospitalized this week with an infection it looks pretty unlikely. Now I have the tough choice of deciding which friend to give the tickets to. Aren't you a student? Sell them.
  22. They must have more speed and clog the bases less. They can really catch the ball. I saw John Kruk saying they "know" how to play the "game" today. Good pitching, fielding, and running the bases plus timely hitting. And if John Kruk says it you know it has to be true  You're damn right it has to be. Why don't we just get it over with and hire him as gm and Darren Daulton as manager? Might be good to hire Dutchie because he'll have incentive to win the Cubs a World Series before the world ends in 2012 If you thought Dusty had some baffling quotes...
  23. I thought FSU played Clemson this week. No? KU game is televised. After our secondary got torched by UL-M, I'm a little nervous about Toledo's air attack.
  24. yep-3 catches for 46 yards, 2 punt returns for 26 yrads total. Here's the box I'm looking at. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=262522305&confId=4
  25. You only beat ULM by 2! That's not good. BTW, how did Cardia Jackson do for ULM? I taught him as an 8th grader. Shockingly, the game wasn't televised here in Chicago, so I'm going off the box score. I don't see his name. Offense or Defense? As for it being not good...well, at KU, a football win is a football win. But no, that's probably not a good augury for the rest of this season. Still, we're young, and hopefully we'll get better.
