Who deserves that spot over Mizzou if they were to win out? They'd have a Top 10 win, be 3-1 or 4-1 against Top 30 teams, and have the best loss of any 1 loss team(save maybe Arizona St.) Nobody. And contrary to what Meph says, Mizzou could play with LSU. Especially if the assumption is that WVU could make a game of it with LSU.

That wasn't really what I was trying to convey, with the whole ego comment I thought it came across as being at least partially facetious. Tech just went up 20-7 on OU in Lubbock. I guess it doesn't really matter at this point if OU loses for Mizzou's purposes, so go go Crybaby Graham. YOU MUST EARNESTLY GIVE US RESPECT WITHOUT ANY ACCOMPANYING ATTEMPTS AT LEVITY. I SHALL DO NOTHING OF THE SORT AND WISH YOUR SQUAD ILL FORTUNE IN ALL THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE. I AM OUTRAGED. UNTIL YOU SEE FIT TO RETRACT THAT STATEMENT, THIS CONVERSATION WILL END. JUST LIKE YOUR TEAM'S CURRENT WINNING STREAK.

I definitely think your offense is better, but I also think it's hard to compare offense by pure points. You have to consider both teams' philosophies. Mizzou's philosophy is scoring = defense. KU is more content to play a field position/time management game (IMO) because it trusts its defense to hold leads. But if you've followed our season, the times we have let up and the score has gotten closer again, we've almost always scored immediately. I think you guys never take your foot off the pedal. I've said all year I think Mizzou is the more talented team. But I think you're kidding yourself if you're going to write off our success to simply playing weak teams.

For my own ego, I'm chalking that up to playing some awful defenses. Comparing the offensive output against some decent defenses(CU, KSU, aTm) makes me optimistic that our defense will do enough to keep you from keeping up with our offense. You really think we're only scoring because we've played bad defenses? Don't kid yourself. One thing we have done is played conservatively with leads on the road. That's a big part of why our offensive numbers have been less impressive against CU/aTm/KSU. But I think Reesing's leash has gotten longer now, and I still think our defense is better than yours. You definitely have the edge in O. Overall, if I were a betting man, I'd bet on Mizzou. But I think it's gonna be a game, and if we can get our ground game going, we've got a great chance. Remember, last year it was 20-17 toward the end of the 3rd quarter, and our offense was simply give the ball to Cornish. One-dimesional. This year you'll have to guard the run and the pass.

That sucks, SSR, but they way you guys have recruited, you'll likely be in the Big 10 mix year in/year out and in the occasional national picture for as long as the Zooker can keep it up.

I don't know if that's a hard and fast rule, but I think it's already generally observed. Last year KU was 6-6, and everybody knew there was almost no chance they'd go to a bowl because, while eligible, there were too many 7-5 teams out there.

That lineup doesn't get us to the playoffs, especially considering the probable regression of our SP. Not much pop, and not a great OBP.

Sherron Collins joins Brandon Rush on the bench with a stress fracture in his foot. He'll be out six weeks. We'll probably lose a game or two because of this, but hopefully he'll be 100% by tourney time. I had been thinking he was the key to the team.

Yep, ya got me. All Mizzou fans support slavery. In fact, I might as well make it known that I have three of my own. Seriously, the whole ku fans calling Mizzou fans "slavers" is so incredibly stupid. As is Mizzou fans calling ku fans "terrorists." All so juvenile and dumb. Rant over. You going to the game in KC Snood? I'm hearing it's gonna be 7 p.m. and possibly Gameday there. That would be awesome. Incredibly intense, but still awesome. I was just trying to get your goat, just like I was trying to get Meph riled up about FLA, but he didn't really take the bait. No, I don't have the scratch to get to there from LA. It's going to be a madhouse, though. And if it's a 7PM game...all that tailgating...all the mutual hate...it might get ugly. I still haven't figured out how we'll stop Maklin (sp) and your 2 TEs. I guess just hope we can run the ball on you and keep you off the field. How were you against aTm's running game?

Even if the SEC is the best conference, it doesn't automatically mean the best team in the country will be from the SEC. So while you have every right to be proud of your 7-3 team, it's still possible the best team is from outside the conference.

You've probably watched KU play what-once, twice this year? You have no idea how good they are or aren't. People who know a lot more about evaluating talent and teams admit they're a good football team with a legit chance to run the table. So it's laughable to say you know for certain they won't win out. Even if they're not as good as OU or Mizzou, they can still win those games. And I hope they do just to piss off whiners who complain that it's not fair their team--which lost three straight games--isn't getting the respect it's due. ]
