  1. did verdell what'shisname ever commit anywhere?
  2. ugh, didn't get to see much of it, but it looked like we were getting flat outplayed and out hustled from what little I did see. If I can stomach it, I might watch the replay, but I probably won't. THey earned it. H
  3. The Jeremy (sp) Stevens one is really troubling.
  4. sorry, I was in a foul mood yesterday. If you want to deny others your reasoning, and snood wants to tell people to listen to you, that's your prerogative. I've been around a here awhile, and enjoy reading the discussion, though I seldom have time to contribute. I recently read your views on park factor in another thread and find you a more enjoyable read when you make a point. I still hate the rudeness schtick... but whatever. I didn't tell others to listen to Meph. Someone bitched about the value of the thread. I gave my opinion on why I thought it had merit, and I thought I did it in a pretty reasonable, even-handed fashion. I honestly have no idea how you interpreted it otherwise. But no worries. I thought the sheep thing was funny.
  5. Not at all. NSBB has been great because there are so many "number savvy" people here. great discussion and perspective. But if you know what you're talking about that should stand on its own, without someone rushing to your defense. and if you're wrong (or even if you're right) then people should feel comfortable debating you without being made to look foolish. The ability to have discussion, disagree respectfully and then be expected to back up your arguments is what makes it interesting. Your arrogant "because I said so" attitude (I suspect its just a schtick - but still) and the sheep that follow you are just annoying... I've said too much...back to my original point...let the man disagree snood, it makes for good banter BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/BabydollSheep0004c.jpg
  6. Mizzou suspends Leo Lyons, Marshall Brown, Butterfield and Jason Horton according to another site I visit. If true, that means including Hannah, they're down 5 players going into the Nebraska game. Looks like the Huskers might get their first conference win.
  7. I could be wrong. They might already be on a tighter leash due to Sampson's earlier improprieties. I was just thinking with regards to KU's recent run-in under Roy's watch. There were some gifts given to players, and Darnell Jackson took some cash from a "longtime friend," and we got tapped pretty lightly. The football team had worse violations (fudging grades). Overall, I think we were hit with the Lack of Inst. Control, and all it cost us was schollies for both teams, no post-season bans. In a vacuum, those violations are worse than the ones at IU (unless I misunderstood the nature of the violations there), but maybe Sampson's history will be a fctor.
  8. i was assuming probation did not involve a post-season ban. Yeah, probably not. Just a scholly reduction and a shorter leash for the next mistake.
  9. Meph has a history of being numbers savvy. I think this is worthwhile with that in mind. Besides, what else is there to talk about? Brian Roberts?
  10. Mizzou's Stephon Hannah in serious condition after a bar fight. Hopefully he'll be okay. http://www.kansascity.com/385/story/463400.html
  11. I certainly love their coaches' conference call. Has anyone heard this? Some prank callers infiltrated the Bg East Coaches/Media conference call. The questions are lame, but the moderator's dismay by the end is hilarious. Audio is here. NSFW. http://thebiglead.com/?p=4325 Sorry if this is old as hell.
  12. You're just jealous of him I know I am. why? i'd be jealous of him if he had a picture of the top of her head, if you know what i mean...wink wink. i don't get it. explain. blowie under the bleachers. i still don't follow. more detail, plz.

  14. I agree. You'll probably need one more guy in addition to Walker. What made Texas so hard last year was Augustin AND Abrahms in addition to Durant. You need other guys to step up. It'll be a fun game, I think. I was impressed with Bramlage against aTm. The place was rocking. I'm thinking if KU can lock down KSU guards, we can lessen the Beasley impact. We'll see, though. It'll be nice to play a good team again. The ISU/NU gauntlet has been a snooze.
  15. I'm expecting a great game. This might be the first game we really miss Julian Wright. While he certainly has a higher ceiling than Darnell Jackson, his role was too undefined and his play was too erratic. I think DJs consistency is a huge part of our success this year. But Julian would be great to throw at Beasley. He wouldn't shut him down; he might not even slow him down much, but having Julian would save us from using Rush on Beasley. Now I expect Rush to be a key part of his defense . Arthur, too, but i'm scared of what he'll do to Kaun and DJ. I think we have to defend him one-on-one though. Let him get his; just don't let the other guys go off. Quick Beasley question: what percentage if the game does he play in the post?
  16. In our defense, we were banged up in those games. ('Zona was Rush's 1st game back from knee surgery, USC his third. Collins didn't play in either of those.) The G-Tech game was close, but we controlled it the entire time and just let them slip back in toward the end. I don't think Memphis can handle our bigs. I'd love to miss them, if possible. But I'd rather play them than UCLA. I'm worried about how tested we'll be by tourney time, though. Teams like Nebraska and CU are glorified practices.
  17. That's why they were lackluster. I don't think either of those things are happening. Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either. Not sure who to root for. I generally root for Indiana, but for seeding purposes, I'd like to see all the Big 10 powers (IU, MSU, UW) lose one more time just in case KU stumbles. I don't see you losing more than 1. If any. My years of being a Cub fan make me less optimistic. Wed will be tough at KSU. We could also lose at Texas. I should eat crow now RE: aTm. I said they were better than IU, and I was way off. I'm no longer worried about them. Baylor could surprise us.

  19. I like Indiana, and that was admittedly the first time I've watched them play, but I was underwhelmed.
  20. KU up 44-15 at halftime vs Nebraska. The 'Huskers have no size aside from Maric. Boring tuneup for the KSU game in Manhattan, which has the makings of a doozy.
  21. He lives in kenny Williams's basement.
  22. This was done by an ad agency not the Cubs. Agency is Jones Chicago. They should be fired for this campaign. I find the campaign awful but that's just me and I am entitled to my opinion. Why do you think they're awful?
  23. Johnson in particular was guilty of just jacking it up in the 2nd half. Good player, but ISU could have gotten better shots. KU was going to win anyway, though.
  24. I think Hubert Davis calls a decent game. I like his genuine enthusiasm.
