  1. This will be a deep draft, and the Bulls would be better served getting into the lottery, even if it's in the latter portion. Draft Express has the Bulls taking Augustin at the 9th spot. But by the time you get to the 15 spot, the player quality drops significantly.
  2. "This suit is NOT black."
  3. I like Wisconsin, but don't think they have the best chance to beat Kansas in that region at all -- it has to be Georgetown. I can't see Wisconsin beating Georgetown. I understand it's not that simple, as he's high on Davidson which is partly why Georgetown has less a chance to advance. I think this also lends credence to Indiana fan's complaints that they're under-seeded. I like Butler's chances against Tennessee; regardless, I like Louisville-UNC in the elite eight. Georgetown could definitely beat us, but Wiscy has the grind it out system that causes problems for KU, too. I think UNC bows out to Louisville.
  4. http://basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=252 Ken Pomeroy gives KU a 60% chance to go to the Final Four, a 50% chance to go to the final game, and a 37% chance to win the whole deal. He's surprisingly high on Wiscy, surprisingly down on UNC.
  5. I like Raftery. KU got Harlan/Bonner, which I'm happy with. If Packer weren't such a ####, he wouldn't be a bad announcer. He generally knows what he's talking about, and he provides way better analysis than a lot of the ESPN clowns (VITALE). He's just an insufferable #####. Edited to remove language. Seriously guys, these rules have been in place for years. Watch the language.
  6. Well, it's gotten basically impossible to defend Hinrich anymore. Hopefully he'll get traded and return to his pre-'07/'08 progression. But he looks lost and frustrated now. I don't know how one forgets how to play defense over the course of a year, but somehow he did.
  7. i mean, maybe they got screwed, but they'd lose in the first or second round anyway. that's why i really don't feel too bad for bubble teams that don't get in. which is why two bubble teams should have to play the tuesday play-in game to get in as the 12 seed or something Yeah, they just said that on Mike and Mike. What do you guys think about Bobby Knights idea of having 128 teams? It is just one more game. It won't work out with TV. CBS will not push the Masters back as that event is a cash cow for them. The Masters is on a Tuesday? A tradition unlike any other.
  8. is this it? yes
  9. To echo the general sentiment: It doesn't need fixing. College football does because sometimes deserving teams are frozen out of the national title hunt. That's not the case in hoops. Every team with a legit shot at winning the title makes the tourney in hoops. The bubble teams don't. I don't see any point in changing things up so those teams get to lose immediately anyway.
  10. San Jose. bah, whatever.
  11. Funny line from Basketball Prospectus about Indiana getting shafted:
  12. I am off the whole weekend and plan on doing just that. The UNC thing is a joke. Yes they have to beat all of the teams to win, but playing more of them than the other 1 seeds is where I see the problem. They earned the number 1 overall seed, thus they should have the easier road. They will play an IU team that was near the top ten the entire year in round two(yes IU fans you are going to win that game vs Arkansas). But, then Kansas plays Kent State or UNLV. I don't see any Eric Gordon or D.J. White's on those rosters. UNC has a shot to go down in any round. I can't see KU losing before the elite eight and that isn't because KU is better than UNC. I think it's funny that you've spent all year talking about how bad IU is, and now all the sudden they're a looming danger to UNC. Of course, you're right now, inasmuch as IU is under-seeded and is a tough 2nd round match-up. But given that you've played both sides of the fence, you had to be right one of those times. Aside from that, I don't see that much difference in our two brackets. I'd rather face ND than Clemson (advantage UNC), but I'd rather face Vandy than Wazzu (advantage KU). As for the two seeds, in a vacuum,Tennessee is better than Georgetown, but they're also a easier matchup for UNC.
  13. Tennessee and Kansas had identical records (KU with one less loss) and Tennessee played a significantly tougher schedule. I'm sorry we lost as many games as Kansas when we were playing better teams. Maybe everybody should schedule toward the lower end of the RPI top 100 if that's what the committee rewards. Meh, I wouldn't complain if we were a two and you were a one, but you got to coast through the SEC. And you lost in your tourney. And we really are a better team. But as far as resumes go, yours is better. Based off how they beat the number one team in america on said teams court and you guys didn't play anyone near that good at all? Or based on how every good team you played, you either squeaked by or lost to? You might be better, but I don't think you can just state that as fact because you feel like it. Sure I can. And I think Texas is just as good Tennessee and perhaps as good as Memphis. Even for teams with a strong inside presence (KU, UCLA), they've been formidable. I'm biased. Of course, you are too. You probably hate KU more than I like them.
  14. I couldn't have said it better myself. Hey [insert team that went 9-9/9-7/was barely over .500 in conference], guess you should have won a couple more games in league, eh? Like you said, if you're on the bubble already, you have nothing to complain about because you played yourself onto the bubble in the previous 30 games. I agree. It's not like in football where a team that deserves a shot at the title is left out. We're talking about very mediocre teams here who have virtually no shot of winning more than 1-2 games. Play better next year.
  15. IU lost three of their last four, with two of them to PSU and Minnesota. They haven't looked good for a while, and the committee factors that in.

Meh, I wouldn't complain if we were a two and you were a one, but you got to coast through the SEC. And you lost in your tourney. And we really are a better team. But as far as resumes go, yours is better. Like I've said, the SEC is easier than the Big 12 - but Tennessee didn't coast anywhere. Our strength of schedule is much higher than yours. Meaning, we played a tougher schedule than Kansas - regardless of conference strength. I said you coasted through the SEC, which is weak. Your non-con was excellent. I also said I wouldn't really complain if you were the one and we were the 2, as I think the argument could easily be made in favor of Tenn. But you also have to realize the worst time to lose is early in the conference tourney. You guys couldn't make it to the finals of a weak SEC, and that happened while you were being scrutinized by the committee. Not good. Besides, we deserve a bit of payback for being the #1 seed last year and having to play the 2 in the 2's backyard. (UCLA in anaheim.)

  18. As usual? Wisconsin might not be built for a national title, but they've proved to be talented enough to get to the final four, elite eight or sweet sixteen. Arguably, Wisconsin has been one of the best, if not the best, Big Ten team over the last 5 or so years. Haha, the best? I assume you've forgotten the Illinois runner-up team? Key words "one of the best" and "over the last 5 years". Illinois was great that season, but I'm talking over time, not one season. ahh, i thought you meant this team was the single best Big-10 team over the last five. Big difference.

  20. the KU/Texas series has been just as exciting as the UNC/Duke series over the last 3-4 seasons.
  21. you have got to be kidding me
  22. You're in. You're still the 3rd place team in the Big XII. And you have the best player in the country. Maybe if you didn't have him, you might get dropped, but there's no way you're out now.
  23. these texas/kansas games are fun except for how we lose half of them.
  24. You have gonzaga twice. also, can KU play USC in the second round since they played this year? I don't know the rules.
  25. I don't think the KU/UT loser drops to the 4th two-seed.
