    A depleted KU team--representing the US--won the World University Games, whatever those are. First time the US has done it in a while. I think we have a chance to be pretty good this year, though I think our front line will still be a defensive weakness.

    So Brandon Moss hit is 100th home run last week, and his own bullpen guys caught it. They're holding the ball ransom, essentially each asking for an expensive Apple product in return for the ball. Whatever, sort of funny. Moss has refused to pay, saying it's 10K worth of stuff. That's fine, too. I mean, he makes 4 mil a year, but I can still understand balking at paying 10k for a ball. But now Apple is stepping in and picking up the tab, and I find myself kind of annoyed. This is a bunch of very wealthy people. League minimum is 500K. Nobody needs a free anything from the [expletive] Apple Store here. Donate that [expletive] to charity or something.

    Ive watched literally like 7 minutes of tonight's game, and I've seen 3 Ducks goals--the first two and the 4th. I know this is incredibly stupid nd that I have no influence on the actual game, but I am not going to watch OT.

    KU's spring game was Saturday. I feel bad for David Beaty. We had 48 scholarship players participating this Spring. Forty. Eight. So little talent, across the board. You'd think we're trying to recover from massive sanctions, but no. Just Turner Gill and Charlie Weis. We'll get 18 more when the freshman arrive, but we're basically worse off talent-wise than we have been any time over the last 5 seasons. And we've won like 6 games over that span. We may take an o-fer this year. If we win two, Beaty should be enshrined in the HOF.
