  1. Heck yeah, Rocky III is coming out this weekend. Then I'm coming up.
  2. In Lexington? There are people in Louisville and Cincinnati who would disagree with that statement. Everybody's a hick to somebody. Yeah, but I used to be a "worse" hick- Harrodsburg. Of course, I pale in comparison to you. :D I bet you had a movie theater and everything there. What a life!
  3. No way.

  5. Looks like Maloney will have a little more work this season with 300,000 tickets still on the table. Despite that, another 3 million draw should be easy.
  6. 1. Wrigley Field 2. Fenway Park 3. Camden Yards 4. Riverfront Stadium 5. GABP 6. Fulton County Stadium 7. Turner Field 8. Pro Player Stadium I liked Cinergy better than the Reds' new park; it was a substandard setup for baseball, but the soul of the '70s Reds permeated throughout the place before they ripped up the carpet in 2001. Turner Field was a huge disappointment.
  7. I like that too, the AA Round Rock Express of the Astros used to be the Jackson Generals. So the "Generals" I guess is open now. I'm guessing the Washington Generals was a joke since it was the name of the team the Globetrotters always played and only won 1 game in 40 years. I couldn't tell if you knew this from your post and I'm sorry if I missed something. No joke.
  8. I still like 'Washington Generals.'
  9. I was there too. Z's been my favorite ever since.

This article details the guts of MLB's system, and includes a handy phone number for complaints.

Are you a kid or what? Buy it. Today.
  12. Milo is a miserable bastard. My short-lived October truce with Houston is over.
  13. They apparently laid claim to both addresses awhile back; i just find it strange that they didn't just dead-end the Seattle one after the Steelers won.
  14. This is kinda cruel. http://SIseattleoffer.com
  15. We play like crap against the poor teams anyways and fairly well against the better teams. This could be a blessing in disguise. That was the case in 05', 06' is a different year. Really? Seems like that's been the case throughout the Baker era. I don't look for much change this season.
  16. It means we can look forward to seeing KENT MERCKER and ADAM DUNN in Cubs uniforms soon. That would shake things up, no?
  17. Not sure what you mean.... They're not allowed to carry their own flag, and are identified as "Chinese Taipei."
  18. The treatment of the Taiwan team was ridiculous - a black mark on an otherwise well-done ceremony.
  19. Every Cubs home game on WGN/CSN is available in Chicagoland in HD. WGN's HD signal is available OTA and on cable; CSN is cable-only. The WGN HD feed is available to out-of-towners over Canada's Bell ExpressVue satellite system. Of course, you have to pirate the signal or get a friendly Canadian to let you use his address. I'm thinking of sticking one up this year.
  20. did you know that Chrysler is a German company? Why do you think I got rid of 'em? 2001 models being made a couple of years after DM won the merger... It was touted as much more of a "merger of equals" back then. Had I been in touch with reality I never would have strayed from GM in the first place - that 300M, in black with the 17-chromes, was quite the bewitcher at the time. I recently picked up a cherry 2000 DTS in White Diamond with the 17s, and any leftover warm feelings for the Mopar are fading fast.
  21. The J-car convertibles are prized by a few, but as a diehard GM man, I'm telling you to run the hell away from that.
  22. The Cubs' business model has changed significantly since this project's earliest days. June 2001 was a freaking long time ago - the team hadn't even sniffed the kind of ticket demand seen the last three years at that point.
  23. Bitter? As a matter of fact I am. and if you had any self dignity you would be as well (or not a stockholder). Sorry sport but I don't like being lied to period. No matter who it is doing the lying. Where's the dignity in claiming harm where none exists? Unless you were planning to watch all 81 games from the sidewalk I really don't see the source for your outrage. More Cub fans will be able to see games from the bleachers, and will do so more comfortably. Wheelchair seating will be availble where none existed before. The rooftops are still in business, the park's looks will be improved, and the ballclub will make more money. What's not to like?
  24. Bitter?
  25. didn't walton blow out his hamstring one year? i remember him not being the same player after that. smith had a few decent seasons with cubs and got a ring with the '95 braves. He injured the hammy in '89, in May I believe. I remember him coming up lame between second and third in a night game verus the Giants that we lost late.
