  1. Getting rid of the 3rd base and 1st base coach is probably their answer. They know speeds from home to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
  2. I know this is the Bears thread, but at least they aren't the Jets. Lol, who couldn't see this train wreck a mile away?
  3. I don't have a problem with it. I assume Warren and Poles are more likely minded than not, so this decision will be like, give me two guys you like and I'll pick one. I hope it's a guy with a track record of nurturing young QBs. That said, if they want to fire Poles too, I'm ok.
  4. They will use Boyd in the pen/spot start. There is power in numbers and we saw last year, the health of pitching is not bankable. The signing is only head scratching in terms of dollars and years.
  5. This is a guy who gets a one-year deal worth a few million and vesting options. This is not a guy you give $15M a year to. I don't get it al all.
  6. That is a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of a guy who was the passing coordinator just a few weeks ago. I know the NFL is highly compartmentalized, but I hope they're giving him a lot of help.
  7. Jed's favorite pastime is putting himself in a corner while trying to show everyone he's the smartest guy in the room.
  8. WTF? Carter Hawkins must really like him.
  9. Hoyer will have to show more creativity than Busch last offseason. The starting 9 are locked with the exception of Nico (injured, he isn’t getting traded, no chance) and Amaya. I’d like to see the trade for Teel if they can get Boston to talk. They need young pitching. I’d trade Horton for him but I doubt if that would be enough. They’ve (Tommy Boy and his Tommy Boy) been adamant about not paying for past production. I don’t think any FA looking for a big contract is what they are looking for. There is a lot of offseason left but unless they show more imagination then they’ve ever shown, we are looking at another mid level team. That may be enough to win the Central but lots of “variance” will need to fall on their side of the ledger. Who knows if Shota will ever match his last season and everyone on the offensive side will be a year older.
  10. Wow! UMFan must be pissing himself.
  11. That FG would have been good from 70
  12. One Weller Special Reserve and 20 mg edible.
  13. I’m half watching while prep cooking and I don’t think I’ve seen the bears with the ball yet.
  14. The game appears to be on CBS
  15. I really want them to go after Fried, he’s just the guy to solidify the group. It pains me so much to know they aren’t even involved.
  16. No, no, no, no.
  17. The point is to make dump trucks full of money that they can give .00005% to their hand-picked politician so they can get bigger dump trucks, which they're going to need.
  18. I'm not against it, but they will have to go the trade route and to get pitching through trades is costly indeed.
  19. But as I noted in a differnt thread, Bellinger is likely tied to Soto in a way that he's a consultation prize. The longer Soto drags this out, and he's a Boras dude, so like January, the less valuable the money will be. If the Cubs discount him, then they are not accomplishing the reason for trading him. If they're not discounting him and not taking back a bad contract (which again negates the reasons), they aren't getting much for him but salary relief. The urgency part makes their hand weaker still.
  20. They'll blame the weather. It's always something that is uncontrollable so we can all shrug our shoulders. It doesn't matter. Jed is a placeholder. Whoever comes next will be a clone. That's what the Ricketts want.
  21. Question: If you could transport these guys to the USA (please don't come at me, Trump) and put them in Southern California, would they be standouts?
  22. Nice work for a beta cuck.
  23. They want to reallocate the money toward pitching for reasons (they think their league average or slightly below offense is good). Who is to say the wind blowing in isn't the new normal with climate change? But I get it. The problem for Jed is that Bellinger will likely not have a market until Soto signs. So, by the time he's moved the pitching they are looking for may not be available in a trade or free agency. Jed 3D chessed himself into a nice box.
