  1. Rich people who are insulted from the consequences of their actions say horsefeathers and expect people to believe it. Who in the Cubs front office is going to call him out?
  2. It’s revenue, but that’s beside the point. Splitting hairs or pointing out how much other teams make is obfuscation. The Cubs are one of the most PROFITABLE franchises year over year in baseball. That doesn’t even include the extracurricular activities that go on in and around Wrigley in and out of season. So in summary, horsefeathers Tom Ricketts and his entire family. Sell the team.
  3. Break even, minus the concerts, hotel, VRBOs, landlord to bars, shops, a sports book, concessions, and about 1/3 of the season in straight profit. I honestly think since they have to divide everything five ways, they think they don’t make a lot of money
  4. Not sure if Canario is out of options yet, but according to Brett at BN he’s tearing the cover off the ball this winter.
  5. No team in the NL Central should be favored to win the division. But until someone other than the Brewers wins, gun to the head, they should be favored. They always do more with less.
  6. If I have to choose between Alcantara and Caissie, the choice isn't particularly difficult and it's not Caissie who may not be able to play an OF position at all. But with the DH and whatnot, It's a lot easier to fit both on the team. Kevin can spell PCA on tough lefties and/or play all three OF positions (not at the same time).
  7. I thought he signed a three year contract in 23. That would make 23, 24,, 25?
  8. They can do a lot worse.
  9. When Jed talks about clean books, he’s tangentially talking about Alcantara, OWNKC, and PCA. Happ is on the last year of his contract and they already explored trading Suzuki. I’d like to see them extend Tucker, but I think we al know that’s going to be a challenge. So, if all goes well and they can’t retain Tucker there is room for all three of them. All never seems to go well though.
  10. Dodgers looking to go 162-0.
  11. lol in the article it quoted someone from the NFL who said “anytime you have power in the hands of the few you have a problem”. I suppose they don’t mind that in general society
  12. I wish I was a Dodgers fan
  13. I looked at a picture of the uniform on The Athletic and they look so cheaply made.
  14. I wonder if Jed believes that or if he knows he's carrying water for Tommy Boy
  15. I like them, but I don't know if I like them with the white pinstripe bottoms.
  16. Hope wasn’t a 10th round talent so we can stop there. The Cubs needed a 1st baseman in the worst way and they paid a premium price. It’s what good teams like the Dodgers do to the smartest guys in the room running less successful organizations.
  17. Loved Bob. I'd switch over the radio broadcasts when he was on the MLB app for Cubs games and listen to an inning or two.
  18. I read in the Athletic that Flaherty is willing to accept a shorter term contract with opt-out. If I'm Jed I'd get him signed. It makes too much sense.
  19. I think Sanders is going there with his son.
  20. No. This is winter season silliness.
  21. Well that’s fun in an MLB the Show way.
  22. Same for me. So little respect for labor.
  23. BP has gone downhill, but Hope at 8, if it's real, they fleeced the Cubs.
