  1. Bad baseball decisons by management from the front office on down to the trainer. During his time as GM Jim Hendry has seen and done A ball player leave early after the last game Leak a video of player (lowering his already low trade value) Hired a trainer without credentials Fired the assistant trainer for pointing that out A ball player call the booth during a game and then corner the broadcaster in an elevator Fired the broadcast team and not sign the player Set dates for players to return and have them miss those dates creating speculation that said players were/are soft Overspend on mediocre free-agents (the list is long and includes those currently with the team at the time of the signing) Pass on players that might help Count on injured pitchers to be healthy Let players who might help the team go or try to trade them away Allow poor development of players in the farm system Trade minor leaguers for marginal proven veterans Not continue to scout internationally Watch bad fundamental baseball year after year Allow the coach to use the closer as a starter and the set up man as the closer and the list goes on and will continue to go on.
  2. You should post this in Rivials. It will drive the Cardinal fans stark raving mad. K-town will probably pee himself while typing. With good reason, it's a friggin' ridiculous assertion. Of course it is, but the way I see it, it will keep them busy for a while and I will get a laugh at how serious they will take it. It's like cubbierich's ridiculous Pujols is a coward thread. Reading that is high commedy We discourage trolling on this board, and what you described is pretty much the definition of it. Appearently not too well becuase that thread hasn't been locked yet. I have not posted in that thread to further along trolling. So I take offense to the idea that I am trolling.

  5. I'd love to be at the D-Jaxx game tonight. That looks like a great pitching matchup.
  6. Why is Giradi a good manager? He seems to employ the smae outdated tactis of the current Cubs manager. He talks about hustle and the will to win and all other sorts of crap. And the Marlins suck. What is good about Girardi? He use to be a Cub and was somewhat likeable while he was in Chicago?
  7. Well, Hendry ignored Pierre's atrocious 2005 and now it's biting the Cubs in the behind. It's hard to ignore .276/.326/.354. And he had an even worse OPS in 2002 with the Rockies. Pierre was anything but a sure bet. On the plus side, he's actually been good on the base paths. Patterson's been better 14/14
  8. Unless or until he pitches the speculation is moot. I'd rather see the Cubs shop Wood, Maddux, or Marshall. I still believe Prior will live up to expectations. I blame the Cubs for much of his problems. I also blame them for standing by and letting the radio talkshow jackasses question his toughness.
  9. I don't know if they'd jump, but I think they would seriously consider it. Their pitching is in disaray, aside from Mariano and Farns their bullpen is terrible, and Matsui is out for the year. Prior could be an Ace for them for years to come. I wouldn't trade Prior though. I would try and trade Wood instead. I think he would wave the NTC for a big payday and a couple of years of guarenteed money.
  10. If Hendry is fired (not likely) it will have to come from a higher place then MacPhail.
  11. Big Frank should get in to the HOF without a doubt. He played his first six years before (1990-95) the "steriod era" and put up these numbers: BA OBP SLG OPS .323 .452 .593 1.046 Sick And his career numbers look like this: BA OBP SLG OPS .307 .427 .568 .995 He should end his career with around 500 HRs and 2,500 hits. It's a no-brainer.
  12. It's incredibly wide spread. Everybody hates him here. Indeed. For some crazy reasons people "think" he's not a Yankee. They think he is a pretty boy who doesn't come through in the clutch. By and large Yankee fans are incredably short sighted. Ironicaly, the now love Giambi though. Wood (extra money for waving the NTC) + Cedeno + Dope (when he gets off the DL) for A-rod. Yankess pay the difference so the trade is money neutral.
  13. The Big Murt with a dong.
  14. The entire Cubs offense has disapeared in May. Why single out Murton and Cedeno? Oh I know why, you're our freindly neighborhood troll.
  15. Link? For Kwel People http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=31828 For Cheapskates viewtopic.php?t=31828
  16. Even that claim is sketchy, because Weaverball requires excellent fundamentals. And walks, which is something the Cubs didn't do too well even in the Sammy years.
  17. Agreed. I've even invented a phrase for it - "neck-down baseball". I could be wrong, but I don't think that is what goony means. I don't think the players on the Cubs are any more dumb then the average baseball player. Hendry drafts and covets players who look good in a uniform and have physical talent, while shortchanging or neglecting to look at other, more important things like the ability to get on base or the ability to throw strikes.
  18. Welcome aboard! There are a few others on the board who are in total agreement with you. Apparently Scherzer would be a lock to go Top 5 if he managed to stay healthy this season. BA's comments on Rowell in their draft tracker: In the Best Tools section, in the HS ranks, he gets #3 for best pure hitter, #2 for best power hitter, and #2 for best strike zone judgment. He doesn't sound like a Cub in the making. :( After seeing IMB's video I am really hoping the Cubs draft Rowell. In the interest of full disclosure I must say I know absolutely nothing about any of the prospects except for what I read from you people.
  19. My frustration with this organization is at an all time high. Not only do they have deep systemic problems with long term ramifications, but either they know about these problems and refuse to do anything or the don't have a clue I don't know which is worse. I suppose they're equally bad. It really gets me down.
  20. It's like a freaking nightmare that I cannot wake up from. Somebody end our pain, please. PLEASE!
  21. 500 in the last 6 games is a net improvement of 0 from all the previousl games. Basically the Cub have been spining their wheels for a week getting nowhere fast. Before the last 6 games the Cubs winning % was 419 after the last 6 gamws the Cubs winning % is 419.
  22. Check Derkier's record and the number of division titles before you call him a joke. Here is a link to make it easy for you. http://www.baseball-reference.com/managers/dierkla01.shtml And Riggleman took a very bad Cub team and managed to get them to the playoffs. He was dealt a far worse hand then Dusty by his GM and performed much better.
