  1. Wasn't a lat strain, it was a shoulder injury: subscapularis strain. Although all indications are he's going to have a normal spring training and be ready to go for the start of the season.
  2. Here is a real gem: "That’s just stupid, Boston."
  3. pedantic as always. The thread cop.
  4. If I were a slugger who was looking for my next big contract, I wouldn't sign in Detriot either. Their park is an awful hitter's park year over year.
  5. News flash, they aren't resigning Tucker either if he has a good season.
  6. Did you read the locked forum? "he's getting paid like a 28 year old 8 war player".
  7. lol. I don’t want that good player he makes too much money is one helluva answer by a fan of a team who should care about winning.
  8. I understand the Cubs situation and they made a very reasonable offer to Bregman. I'm not upset with the Jed or Tommy Boy. But I'm also not going to commiserate with billionaire owners about how much one of the best players in baseball is getting paid.
  9. right. It sounds like sour grapes and people trying to be too smart. Why would you not want your team to have good players? Whatever, to each his own. Play Baseball Mogul on the website, it's fun I suppose.
  10. If Gretzky played today he's probably only score 50 points a season, but he is 64. If you compare the players by era and how much better they were than the field there is no comparison. Same with Jordan. Same with Brown. Same with Ruth.
  11. I suppose we can talk about Bregman here now. I'm happy for him. He got a nice contract. I find it funny and strange when fans say, "Boy, I'm glad we didn't sign him to a deal like that." Why does anyone care? The team obviously has the money to do it, or they wouldn't. And it makes the team better. It's good for Boston.
  12. So bored already. They don't even have good "best shape of his life" articles to read on The Althetic.
  13. As much as I love gingers that’s a big no for me.
  14. Chartres street near Jackson Sq Park from the looks of it
  15. Dempster has become a decent fill-in for JD now that he's not working on an amateur comedy routine.
  16. I don't know who or what BVM sports is but they are reporting the Cubs are no longer pursing Bregman https://bvmsports.com/2025/02/10/alex-bregmans-free-agency-twist-cubs-withdraw-astros-offer-160m/#:~:text=The Cubs are no longer,Jays%2C remain in on Bregman.
  17. I read an article that said Bergman only got one long term offer with the Blue Jays. I’m guessing that they are trying to gin up some interest
  18. Shocked 😳.
  19. Time for the annual thread. Who you like what are you betting? KC is 1.5 favorite. Gun to my head I’d take Philly. If they can establish the run they will win. I don’t know prop bets
  20. If you ask the Padres, they’re being reasonable. If he gets traded there’s going to be tippy top prospects going back and more than one.
  21. Surprised Tom hasn’t poked in with a Boras the boogie man post. Scott Boras is or should be a hero to everyone who earns a paycheck with their labor.
  22. They will likely have to trade someone due to the Scrooge McDuck family but why not wait until the end of spring training or better yet July?
  23. First workout is today, Super Bowl Sunday. who is going to be in the best shape of their life: over in the minors forum Big Mo looks like he dropped 30 pounds. which pitcher is going to have some mystery injury right at the start of camp? It’s time to get excited March 18 is right around the corner.
