  1. Our local station broke from the end of the LSU/ND game to for The Wendy Williams show, lol.
  2. Why? Harbaugh is a rah-rah college coach whose shtick wears thin on professionals.
  3. This offseason has a mid 1980s collusion feel to it. It could just be the contrast in quality from this years class to next years, but I can’t remember a time with so little movement this late in the off-season.
  4. What he hated about Chicago probably has nothing to with his ability to find places to hunt. That is if he actually hated Chicago any more than the generic big city
  5. Someone with 450 tweets who lives in litter box Arizona
  6. ftfy That is horsefeathering funny
  7. I think no news is good for the Cubs. Theo is so stealthy.
  8. Darvish will be singing Eddie Vedder tunes and wearing a Cubs hat tomorrow. I can feel it.
  9. I won’t know it’s real until he’s spotted signing Go Cubs, Go in a Chicago Starbucks.
  10. What off the field stuff? He’s a serial cheater who doesn’t know how to use a prophylactic?
  11. Someone tweeted at him about the idea of "Bruce" Harper getting a $400 million deal, so he was just mocking that. https://twitter.com/keithlaw/status/943592855477608448 Thanks. I didn't catch that spelling mistake, which should not be a shock to anyone here.
  12. I'm pretty firmly in the camp that thinks trading Russell for him is not a good idea.
  13. Keith Law Tweeted that he didn’t think Harper would get a 400M contract. I don’t know if he was being facetious, though.
  14. With half of the guys on that list that are late in their careers or retired (and all but a few with WARs under 10), if you traded them around their age 24 or 25 season, you'd be trading them at peak value. With half of them, you'd regret it unless you got some exceptional value in return. That list doesn't really convince me to hold or trade. For 1 guaranteed year of Manny or just in general?
  15. But then nothing would preclude the Cubs from signing Machado instead and trading Russell then. Or just keep Russel and Machado and move KB to left. That's true, but I think there would be a better chance of extending Machado (after being on the team) than bidding on him as a FA. Why?
  16. It depends on if he wants to win. The Nats don’t have the resources to build a winning team a give him 1/3 or 1/4 of the entire money spent on the team.
  17. So flipping awesome.
  18. This thread needs a better title Phillies make a Smooth Deal.
  19. Nah. By next year the Cubs will own an entire city block and more of retail and hotel. They will have enough money for anyone they want. Also, they will get a fat check for $50M from the sale of BAM they can salt away in escrow for a year.
  20. Technically he's their CEO (they don't have a GM yet!). I don't even know what CEO means in baseball front office terms. Though, they're not being run like a baseball team right now. It's purely a business right now down there in Miami. It's like Gordon Gekko bought the team and is breaking it up and selling pieces of it off to make a profit. Jeets is not a good Corporate Rader.
  21. Jeets is not a good GM. Great trade for the horsefeathers-birds
  22. Guessing that's including a premium to go play on a 96 loss team. I'm guessing this is a throwaway line, but I think the Phillies are going to be competitive in a very weak Division (-Washington).
  23. A ton of things had to happen to get to this point no reason to hate Heyward, plus we won a World Series. The Marlins might not have even been sold if Fernandez just decided to go home instead of jettying himself. I just want to add Stanton's dongs to our lineup, leave me alone about it, ok? Stanton is going to spend more time on the DL than he will be in the lineup over the course of the next three years. If he can't stay healthy when he's young, it's only going to get worse as he ages.
  24. Agree. Will be watching more late night baseball on EI.
