darrin jackson? he seems pretty universally liked in town but i obviously haven't spent much time listening to white sox broadcasts. i'm sure he's better than dopey ass coomer. anyway, in that regard, if len could deal with brenly, he can probably deal with this. Good point. Jackson said that he thought pitchers really weren't throwing that fast. He seemed to indicate the new “technology” of radar guns aren’t accurate.

No, I had no idea who it was. I like Pat on the radio (a lot), he sounds different to me. BTW, Len is different on the radio than he is on TV to me as well.

1st base should be half in foul and half in fair. Or even 3/4 in foul territory. it would get rid of the need for base runners to run down the line in fair territory and interfere with 1st baseman. Thank you. You're welcome. -

Law is one of those guys who are down on everyone because that is the safest place to be. It's easier to bag on every prospect because more times than not it's a good bet. But he always really seems to be down on the Cubs, maybe rightly so, but he's kind of a dick about it ALL THE TIME.

I haven't watched any games yet, but if that's where the booth is headed in relation to any advanced analytics, you can count me out. If I want to hear how great batting average, rbis and pitcher record is I can find plenty in the cesspool that is Facebook and reddit. Yes, as David implied, Boog is great at breaking down advanced analytics. He's really good at showing how they truly apply in in-game situations. He just calls it nerd baseball, jokingly. He's like a version of Len that is amped up on coffee. I am happy with the booth.

I've really enjoyed Boog in the booth. He asks great questions to JD and is entertaining. I don't like that he calls any objective analysis "nerd baseball".

Ok, someone do the math. If they are break even at 20%, they sure must make a killing at 100%. 20% capacity is between 8 and 9k. 2019 average attendance was a bit over 38k, so let's simplify and call it 30k fans for 80 home games, 2.4 million fans worth of profit. At $50/person, that's 120 million. Cot's says the current payroll is 145 million actual and 170 million luxury tax, so you can do the math on how much potential room that gives them assuming all the assumptions on what Kenney is implying and our napkin math are roughly accurate. It does paint a picture that the conversation about avoiding the repeater penalty for being over the luxury tax may have some basis in reality, but the current payroll situation would entirely be temporary loss aversion(or recovery of 2020 losses if you prefer). A sound method, but I think $50/person is on the low end. It's probably closer to $100/person after concessions and whatnot.
