    I think it's an evolution that is going to happen. When they do leave the NCAA they will probably realign again into geographic regions/leagues and have some type of 8 or 12 Team playoff system. Where does this leave ND? lol, they may have their own league and just make the playoffs every year.

    SB Cubs are now in 1st place. I know it's not that important in the grand scheme, but it is still better than not being in 1st place.

    I've never encountered anyone that thought Almora was actually good. He never had enough tools to be taken seriously and the ones he had never developed enough (or at all) to matter. Maybe advancing to 2nd in the 10th inning of Game 7 sucked all the potential out of him. What was the ridiculous draft comp that I believe Harold Reynolds gave him? I believe it was either Arod or Braun, I can't remember which, but it was very obvious that those tools never existed. Reynolds wasn't the only one but to a greater extent than others. At the time of the draft, a lot of people said he had the best bat-to-ball skills in the draft. He played + defense in CF. He just never developed his skills. I get what he's saying even if I don't totally buy it. Brooks Kieschnick said much of the same things and worse about the Cubs' development of players.

    read an article yesterday about mcmichael having a fentanyl patch on him at all times. yeah, the dude is in constant pain. Huh, my understanding of ALS is that sort of pain and pain managemt isn't super common. But I guess it's possible. That sucks if it's the case. Even thinking of family members who I have watched die in hospice from organ failure related to age, the pain management plan wiped out any quality of life. ALS patients (again from everything I've personally known) generally maintain all their mental faculties (if they lose it it may be related to some other concurrent issue), and if they aren't in pain or their pain management needs require very low doses of stuff that don't turn them into a glazed-over shell of themselves, than the idea of merciful pleas re: their life may be misguided. If I get it I want straight heroin at a high enough dosage that I never wake up again. No one should die like this unless they want to.

    I read that the Yankees are very happy with their catchers and are valuing how they handle the pitching staff very highly. I don't think they will be looking to add him. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Cubs don't trade him because they won't get the value they want. Also, please do not trade Wilson to the Brewers.

    Blue Jays are desperate for Bullpen arms, LH hitting, SPing - Robertson + Ortega? Robertson + Happ? Robertson +Heyward? Is Hendricks available - would anybody care? No one is taking Hewyard unless the Cubs pay his salary. And he now has a bad knee.
