    A good secondary can make a bad pass rush better, that seems to be the hope, anyway.

    I think St. Louis wins the division. They have a knack for acquiring talent at the deadline. However, they've never looked more out of sorts organizationally in my memory. From the acquisition of Willson to the promotion/demotion of Walker and their in-game managerial decisions, they looked very bad.

    I think this is exactly correct. Fields is not his guy and he still doesn't know if he is the guy. It's still on Poles because he choose not make an attempt for a season +.

    My biggest gripe with Ross after him letting his starters pitch to failure and making every bullpen appearance a high leverage situation, is his lineup construction. I know a lot of data goes into these decisions, but you kind of have to let Mervis and Morel play most days.

    Eh, according to MLB.com he has one error and one passed ball this year, so not bad. If his soft skills are good, maybe I’m biased.

    BTW, the Smokies game is also free today. I think the games may overlap though. If you haven’t seen PCA play it’s worth the watch. edit: the games probably will not overlap

    I trust professionals more than me. But goodness, he looks a lot different than that scouting report. Even on TV.

    It’s no longer early, but it’s also not too late. The Cubs must have a good 10 game road trip out West if they want to have any chance at postseason play. by good I mean better than .500. 6 and 4 would be good. 7-3, outstanding. Anything beyond that is too much to hope for.
