  1. BJ Murray with an RBI double of the RF wall in the bottom of the 1st.
  2. Fun fact I learned by looking up the Dayton Dragons. They are managed by Brian LaHair. lol
  3. Pagan just made a great catch in RF. He's a player to watch. It seems like the Cubs currently have so many quality OF prospects.
  4. Horton is catching a lot of the plate with his FB, but he's blowing them away anyway. 6ks through 3.
  5. Horton has 4 strikeouts through two innings. He had a wild pitch that was really the catcher not being able to handle 98 head high. Then a hard single on a good pitch. The SB Cubs are down by 2. The Dragons pitcher is overwhelming the Cubs hitters to this point.
  6. Ross loves to let his starters pitch to failure. Tough spot for a rookie here
  7. Zademan Dempster team on the radio is something else. Zademan can’t modulate his voice and Dempster is Mr Obvious.
  8. When Wisdom goes cold it’s a deep freeze
  9. Does anyone know why PCA hasn’t been playing?
  10. He's more than likely to not make it, but it's still too early to tell. He's shown an ability to adjust at each level so far. There is reason to believe he can adjust. In his first ABs he was doing pretty well at waiting. He may be pressing now.
  11. He had a pretty bad spring and a lot of helium last year, so I don't blame the Cubs for where he started. They have to give him a long leash to get himself comfortable. The way Ross sets playing time is not necessarily helpful for that. But it's on him to sink or swim if they give him enough time.
  12. If Mervis can have more competitive ABs more often he could be a key piece to moving the team forward. I'm hoping for progression for him and lots of playing time. Jed needs to tell Ross to let him play.
  13. I'm not sure they can spend their way out it either. They need to be good at identifying a quality or qualities of players to augment what they have in others. They need strike throwers. They need to cut down on strike outs. And they specifically need slugging.
  14. infuriatingly Cubs.
  15. First class write-up. They put a lot of resources into the pitch lab, but they haven't found a solution for throwing good pitches. They walk too many and throw bad strikes. The minor leagues have a lot of good players and no great players. And the Ricketts are content with buying one good player and paying him like a great player once every six years or so. There are bad owners all over baseball, but there are none who have the combination of abject awfulness of the Ricketts family.
  16. They do not care. I imagine they get a discount from all their talent for working part-time, which adds up to paying less than they would if they had an intact booth.
  17. Tommy Boy loves Jed and Jed loves Ross. There will not be any firings this year.
  18. Zademan is not a good pbp guy for baseball
  19. He had such a great spring. He left everything in Arizona
  20. Not go nothing, game threads belong in the game threads.
  21. Drinking gin and tonics by the pool and listening to the Cobs. Getting a jump on Summer
  22. I hope the Cubs aren't wanting any pitching from Iowa because they are awful too.
