  1. if Odunze is there at 9 they have to take him. It makes too much sense. Whatever else they do in the draft will be icing.
  2. It's everything, his sing-song delivery. His name dropping. His effusive praise for a guy who is not even in the top 50 Cubs prospects. I can't stand it.
  3. This dude pitching for the Cubs looks like Jimmy Fallon with a fake mustache (Scalzo).
  4. I am feverishly engaging in magical thinking that they are letting Suttcliffe do ST games and will not let him near a microphone during the regular season.
  5. The Cubs look completely disinterested in this game.
  6. I like that someone called Madrigal slick fielding.
  7. I’m not sure what the Cubs are playing the Cardinals in ST? Anyone Want to lay the info on me
  8. Brown and Horton are part of the starting rotation by or after the ASB. Shaw and Cassissie are both starting by or after the ASB. The Cubs make a deep run in the playoffs.
  9. I said this before, but it bears repeating. To be good they will have to limit HR. To the extent that they can do that, they will be fine.
  10. Hendricks 1st-two rocket base hits, pop fly, K, pop fly. Such a Hendricks inning.
  11. Brown looked spectacular.
  12. Brown has simplified his wind up and looks in a lot better control of his body.
  13. I think it was this way from the time he signed with the Cubs. They gave him a spot to get some work in and audition for other teams. It happens every year.
  14. McClain is now out and may be done for the season. I'm more worried about the Burgh than I am about the Reds (right now). This division is the Cubs to win. But somehow through devil magic the Cardinals are going to win 93 games
  15. For instance, an average fielding SS is usually an above-average 2B/3B/CF. Yeah, that's not true, it's an assumption. But like I said, I get the argument, I don't buy it. You're not going to convince me. WAR should be normalized by position so you are comparing apples to apples, not apples to pizza.
  16. The simple answer is that a DH has negative value to a team if he is only a DH. I have never liked any of the advanced defensive metrics or WAR based inflation by position. I get the argument, I don't buy it. If you want to say SS is the most valuable position, fine, but you still need 8 others, and not every ball is going to be hit there. Obviously, not everyone can play SS. Nonetheless, the position (not the player) is one of eight and a ****** defensive SS (the player, not the position) shouldn't be inherently more valuable than a good defensive 1st baseman who can dig out bad throws from the ****** SS.
  17. well this sucks and I'm already weeping about my sleeper.
  18. The Cubs own a sports book. That’s the irony of this story.
  19. Not enough people will appreciate this. Well done.
  20. Pittsburgh is definitely on the rise. It should be an interesting season. If Skeens and Jones have a good year that is a solid 1-2.
  21. Agree on the Dune II review. ST results may be illusionary, but the Cubs (likely to make the team) have looked great for the most part. This might be the swan song for Hendricks and I worry about the SP in general giving up too many HRs. But, the division is wide open. I’m more optimistic about this year than I have been in a long time.
  22. I don’t know how certain it is.
  23. Totally agree. The playoffs are about who is playing the best come playoff time. It’s two different seasons.
