  1. The depth of talent in the system is really impressive
  2. They want to limit his innings. Baring something really unexpected happening, he will probably be up in June or July
  3. Not the worst outcome for the team if they don’t play
  4. Looks like there is one big cell and then it will be over. I'm not sure how fast it is moving though. if it stalls out it could be bad
  5. Law's initial impression of this years draft prospects https://theathletic.com/5421487/2024/04/18/mlb-draft-2024-prospect-rankings-top-50-keith-law/
  6. There were about 1,500 people at the last home game. They could almost play at my high school.
  7. Puk has a WHiP of 2.4. I'm fully prepared for him to mystify the Cubs for 6 innings.
  8. Good work. Not much you can do about the HR, good hitting.
  9. Cubs are going to win this win. Wicks has pitched into some tough luck this year and the defense has not supported him well. This will change today.
  10. Open pool of starter fluid, just add match or Jesus on a stick? Stay tuned Cubs fans.
  11. As someone else said, the biggest problem with the bullpen is overuse. A lot gets solved when SP can go 6 or 7 innings.
  12. Not going to comment on all of it, except for #1 - It's not our responsibility to build a pen for the Cubs. Our (collective) bitching about the pen in no way obligates anyone to "have a better idea". Jed's MO is to throw bodies at it and figure it out during the season through attrition. It's not a strategic decision, as much as it is a tactical one. Tactics without strategy are never a good thing. However, the volatile nature of bullpen pitchers is a tough problem to solve. The Brewers seem to have figured that out, but it may be only tangentially related to the manger the Cubs hired.
  13. With Kyle it's always a command issue. I thought his first couple of starts were results bad, but process good. His last couple of starts have been results and process bad. I don't know that it is fixable.
  14. Yes, I appreciate that he is a strike thrower. Even the walk, ball four was right there. But it's not like he's throwing center cut either. He hits his spots and his slider is a devastating swing and miss pitch.
