  1. what about swapping bryant and soler, given that bryant projects to get on base more?
  2. guarantee that "How it might go wrong for Bryant" is the first one that kyle will click on.
  3. so trade him to colorado, who will then send him down to their short-season A-ball affiliate? [expletive] desipio, [expletive] them right in the face.
  4. so if he does play.... lineups? 8 fowler 3 rizzo 9 soler 7 coghlan 6 castro 5 bryant 2 montero 1 hammel 5 alcantara ?? could see them easing him in below coghlan and castro before inserting him where he belongs (batting 3rd or 4th) later.
  5. i apparently am not using the correct flight booking websites.
  6. http://deadspin.com/is-this-espn-reporter-britt-mchenry-berating-a-parking-1698248529 sounds like a lovely person.
  7. They can't get him up to Chicago tonight to play tomorrow? well, he was just playing baseball in new orleans as of 8pm central, so i assume the absolute earliest flight he could've caught was 10pm, and i doubt that there are flights from new orleans to chicago at that hour. my not-so-exhaustive research suggests that the earliest he could arrive in chicago (flying commercial obviously) is 12:40pm, leaving new orleans at 10:08am. They can charter a plane if they really want him to play tomorrow chartering a plane so that one baseball player can get an extra two or three at bats in one major league game seems rather wasteful.
  8. i highly doubt that they kept trotting olt out there as a pinch hitter knowing that he had a hairline fracture in his wrist.

  10. with the early start, i doubt that bryant will be in the starting lineup. maybe available to pinch hit later?
  11. How trustworthy is an anonymous Jesse Rogers source? he's espn's cubs reporter and definitely not a troll. unless he is wrong or got hacked, it's legit.
  12. Jesse Rogers ‏@ESPNChiCubs 21s22 seconds ago Breaking. Source: Kris Bryant to be called up by Cubs on Friday. Story coming at http://ESPNChicago.com http://media0.giphy.com/media/rl0FOxdz7CcxO/giphy.gif
  13. trevor clifton came out of the bullpen and pitched a solid inning after his first south bend start was a train wreck. gave up a double but no runs allowed and struck out one. cj edwards still seems kind of broken. gave up single, walk, and double before settling down with a ground out and two strikeouts.
  14. cael brockmeyer seems too advanced for south bend. armando rivero sure doesn't look like he wants to be called up.
  15. yeah looked like either a home run or a double off the top of the wall. https://vine.co/v/ezO2L35hVvO
  16. alcantara isn't as exciting, but he was a top 50 prospect at midseason last year, and his development continues to be pretty important to the cubs' future.
  17. i actually did know that one.
  18. plus the ability to "clutch pinch hit" is far more important to NL teams, due to the presence of the pitcher in the batting lineup.
  19. sixers have lakers' first round pick but it's top 5 protected - lakers finished with 4th worst record. sixers have miami's first round pick but it's top 10 protected - miami tanked and finished with 10th worst record. sixers have okc's first round pick but it's top 18 protected - durant goes down for the year, okc tanks and finishes with 18th worst record. FUUUUUUUUUUUU
  20. lol i would be furious if a cub did that.
  21. funny things happen when foul balls, players and fans collide at fenway. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view7/4203677/red-sox-pizza-thrower-o.gif
  22. Threw a pitch, then he called the trainer out, everyone gathered around him, Maddon called in Schlitter and he walked off. JD mentioned something about Ramirez walking a little funny on his way out to the mound after his last warm up pitch Walking funny would be good news, unless he blew out his knee or Achilles.
  23. It's washed up pitcher night for the Reds! Kevin Gregg must be next after Parra.
  24. God, how bad must the Reds' other starting options have been that [expletive] Jason Marquis made their rotation?
