i really do like hart. i'm surprised that more minor league coaches don't teach the cut fastball; hart's career was going nowhere fast until he learned it, and he's taken off since then.

i think the cubs have seen about 15 pitches total in the past 3 innings. piss poor.

verne lundquist and bill raftery were great during the sec title game. especially raftery, i know some people don't like him, but i think he's a lot of fun to listen to. billy packer is lousy; unfortunately he tends to do a lot of games that end up televised nationally.

it shouldn't matter, the other guy is better. you keep saying it, but i haven't seen you try to prove it. i know, because i don't really know how to prove it. then how can you say so definitively that one guy is better than the other? i guess i shouldn't have said it with as much certainty, but i feel strongly that i am right about this. feel free to prove me wrong.

i wouldn't say it's stupid... i'm not sure how long he has to be down for, but i think it's only around a month, and that would keep give the d-rays another year before he hits UFA. for a small-market team like tampa, this is a necessary move. there's almost no excuse for them to have a phenom start the year with the big club unless they get good enough to compete for division titles.

those teams took 208 shots from the field and had 67 free throw attempts, they must be shooting with about 18 on the shot clock every possession. craziness.

Did you stop to look at how the guy the Reds got back is doing? Volquez has 19 Ks and 3 BBs to go with his 3.46 ERA (bad stat?) in 13 innings this spring. He is just filthy, and is going to be the Reds 3rd or 4th starter behind Harang, Arroyo, and maybe Cueto. I'll take pitching over hitting 100 times out of 100. So far it looks like a win for both teams. reds seem to have a lot of pitchers who are "filthy"

His production is unacceptable at any position. he'd be a good hitting pitcher unfortunately i don't think his fastball could top 37 mph.
