  1. wait, so the cubs starters have a pretty good ERA and BAA, but their innings pitched is low? maybe this is a problem relating more to, say, the manager having too quick of a hook?
  2. Likely just the residual energy from Edmonds's tenure at his position. or the cocaine/hgh
  3. great job marquis, walk a guy who can't hit ahead of the best hitter in the league.
  4. drink every time joe morgan says "consistent." you'll be dead by the third inning.
  5. oh, we're still playing reed johnson against RHP? so what's pie's function on this team, exactly?
  6. Ronny over Theriot is not a marginal difference. theriot has a .436 obp in the 2 spot im content with that And 2 days later its dropped 39 points...its bad enough to use a month of stats to make decisions let alone splitting that down to batting order. well, feel free to give this reminder to all the people in this thread who talk about cedeno having better stats this season.
  7. wonder if el caballo appreciated his work today
  8. well, we did our part... up to you guys now
  9. Looks like a busy day for Mitch Atkins. Hopefully they are not overworking him. marmol is going to take the ball for tennessee in mitch atkins' place
  10. when the cubs are ahead 9-3, where's that option
  11. If Dempster falls off we have exactly 1 good starting pitcher left Which is just about on par with the rest of the league. It's rare to see any team with a bonafide 1-2 punch these days. Diamondbacks say hi, and raise you a -3. Yep. They are one of the "rare" teams. who's the diamondbacks' really good #3?
  12. i'm not sure that ron jeremy is the best choice for the coach of the orlando magic
  13. Can't disagree, but I'd rather see him get a few days of rest during the Break.... Agreed. Considering the load he's catching right now... I'm real worried about his performance at the end of the season. I hope Lou wises up and rests him a bit more often. when we get to road interleague games, i wouldn't mind seeing blanco do a lot of the catching while soto is the DH. that'd keep him in the lineup while not having to catch 9 innings.
  14. .337/.421/.622/1.044 soto is just like all of the cubs' catchers last season, except awesome instead of horrible.
  15. phew that was a close one! thank God we had marmol in there or we might've only won by four!
  16. this is incredibly idiotic. lou is bad.
  17. anyone have lou's e-mail address? i'm coaching special olympics golf on tuesday and i want to see if lou would like to participate.
  18. Given the amount of gambling, drinking, and shenanigans that happen during the Derby, it's a miracle people still treat it like an exercise in pageantry and high class entertainment. i went to the preakness in 2001, and let's just say that i'd played at least 3 games of beirut (beer pong) and seen several sets of boobs before noon.
  19. is this where someone is supposed to say that reed johnson doesn't get to that ball?
  20. if we could clone marmol our pitching staff would be the best pitching staff ever
  21. lol not only is he stan musial at the plate but he's willie mays in the field.
