  1. if ryan ludwick can keep up that .375 Eqa, i'll be very worried.
  2. i think all the people who voted for him to win the Cy young are aware nah, they probably just know he had the most wins.
  3. I do. The only 3 pitchers that I guarantee a loss for my team are Webb, Peavy and Santana. Well now Volquez. I still can't believe we beat Webb last year and played him close in the playoffs (although we only got 1 run on him). Webb's last 3+ years: 2005: 229.0 IP, 229 H, 21 HR, 59 BB, 172 K, 3.54 ERA, 126 ERA+, 1.258 WHIP 2006: 235.0 IP, 216 H, 15 HR, 50 BB, 178 K, 3.10 ERA, 152 ERA+, 1.132 WHIP 2007: 236.3 IP, 209 H, 12 HR, 72 BB, 194 K, 3.01 ERA, 156 ERA+, 1.189 WHIP 2008: 56 IP, 40 H, 2 HR, 16 BB, 41 K, 2.41 ERA, ~180 ERA+, 1.00 WHIP Not a lot of pitchers who are that durable and that good. Amazing what you can do when your GO/FO ratio flirts with 4 most seasons. I'd say the three best pitchers in the world are Santana, Peavy, Webb, then you've got a ways to go before the next guy on the list.
  4. Nothing on Cub prospects, but i found these to be funny: According to their rankings... Excellent prospects: Evan Longoria, Rays (22) Andy LaRoche, Dodgers (24) Good Prospects: Ian Stewart, Rockies (23) Neil Walker, Pirates (22) Scott Moore, Orioles (24) Joe Dillon, Brewers (32) Angel Villalona, Giants (17) Andy Marte, Indians (24) Very Good Prospects: (this makes no sense, maybe the above guys were supposed to be good and these very good?) Billy Rowell, Orioles (19) Mitchell Hilligoss, Yankees (23) Rico Washington, Cardinals (30) David Fresse, Padres (25) Blake DeWitt, Dodgers (22) Matthew Sweeney, Angels (20) James D'Antona, Diamondbacks (26) Matt Moses, Twins (23) Daniel Murphy, Mets (23) Mario Lisson, Royals (24) Michael Costanzo, Orioles (24) Joel Guzman, Devil Rays (23) Chase Headley, Padres (24)
  5. boy am i glad we're not facing webb this series, he's totally shutting down the phillies today. i wonder how many people realize he's one of the two or three best starting pitchers on the planet.
  6. oh by the way guess who just hit another home run? if you guessed AAAA all-star ryan ludwick, you win!
  7. whenever roast gets around to unlocking them.
  8. ryan ludwick has a home run. also, skippy schumaker, ludwick, molina, brendan ryan, adam kennedy and aaron miles are all hitting .300 or better. wtf.
  9. it's gotta be collusion when a guy who is known to be somewhat of a diva and a clubhouse cancer doesn't get signed by a major league team. and oh yeah, he's under indictment and has been jeered by fans in every city he has played in.
  10. because they have nothing better to do except vote
  11. randomly tested for what, though? don't they still not test for hgh?
  12. i say fourth of july. you (and whoever is with you) can drink all day, eat loads of corn on the cob and barbeque food, then at the end of the day you can say that the fireworks are for you being born.
  13. fixed. anyway, what about gay male reporters going into male locker rooms or gay female reporters going into locker rooms? if straight women are concerned about men going into their locker rooms for fear of being leered at, shouldn't they also be worried about gay women coming into the locker room and doing just that? who cares. the women who don't want male reporters in their locker rooms, obviously.
  14. Why do we need a left-handed bat when we crush RHP? it looks prettier to have a lefty batter hitting against a righty pitcher
  15. not that surprising considering that his LD% is 44.1%. i didn't even know that was possible.
  16. I'm good with that. Just get his bat in the lineup. i'd prefer to have a good bat in the lineup along with a solid defender in center field, which is what milton bradley would be. plus his price tag would be lower.
  17. Bonds wouldn't get out of bed for that much. For a chance to win the WS? He might very well do so. i think you're severely overestimating barry bonds' desire to win a championship.
  18. if you thought matt murton was a hoot in the outfield, wait to you see adam dunn out there.
  19. fukudome is going to win
  20. holy crap, i was convinced that mister 1.100 OPS was going deep there.
  21. look out, pujols part II at the plate
  22. Schumaker Miles Pujols I bet the Cards score 2. it probably goes something like: schumaker walks miles doubles, schumaker to third pujols grounds out, runners hold ludwick, 3 run homer
