  1. until he shows that he's not completely washed up, edmonds should not hit ahead of a guy OPS'ing over .800
  2. manny, you keep on being manny. he cracks me up.
  3. This killed me the reasoning might not be good, but there's no reason to shift theriot down in the lineup as long as he's hitting well in the 2 hole.
  4. i know, it was like this all last year. it's like a quarter of the people on this board just started following the cubs this season. thinking that soriano would be a terrible hitter all year was the epitome of ignorance.
  5. the cubs lineup should have a seamless transition from one center fielder who isn't hitting, to another one who cannot hit any more.
  6. Being wrong on purpose doesn't foster intelligent debate. right but everyone has different ideas about what is wrong. i was ridiculed for supporting theriot over cedeno in the starting lineup, including people saying "you're better than that" and accusing me of supporting theriot just to rile other people up.
  7. harsh words from a guy who posted "edmonds owns"
  8. i just bought a house. oh that's optimistic about my life, not about edmonds and the cubs.
  9. if kerry blows this, marmol is pitching every relief inning the rest of the season
  10. Carlos Zambrano honestly is though You can throw the pitch count away with fat latinos. Re: Livan Hernandez, Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia yeah no ill effects for colon or garcia
  11. Unless the Cubs build up about a 15 run lead here, my guess is that Marmol would go back in. It's too bad, but I don't see much way that it doesn't happen. A 4 run lead here does not assure this game. They've been coming back on us all night. This is not the same situation as putting Marmol in with a 6 run lead and the opposing team has shown no signs of life. it's a low leverage situation. lou continues to use marmol too much in low leverage situations, but puts the worst relievers on the team into the game with runners on in the 5th or 6th inning. it's pretty much out of the textbook on how not to use your bullpen.
  12. i can get excited about putting up 8 runs on a night when one of the three best pitchers in baseball started for the other team.
  13. correct you are, reed johnson really doesn't have much power at all As he continues to drive balls to the warning track and beyond... beyond? you're really working that home run for all it's worth.
  14. haha like this hasn't already happened multiple times this season
  15. correct you are, reed johnson really doesn't have much power at all
  16. reed johnson is becoming one of my most hated cubs
  17. calling a soto home run isn't impressive, it's inevitable
  18. can we stop talking about jim edmonds, i'm enjoying the fact that the cubs are beating up on a good pitcher and would like to pretend that lou and hendry don't have their heads up their rears
  19. this game is going well for an automatic loss
