Maybe Edmonds was too busy [insert homosexual joke] to pinch hit Actually without the joke it may very well have been a situation where Edmonds wasnt ready to hit at that time. And why are we benching DeRosa tomorrow, who just had a day off on Thursday and has been quite hot the last 8 games he's started? plus derosa's 3 year splits against LHP are .314/.385/.509/.894.

The Cubs went down 5-4 in the top of the 5th and you left because you figured the game was over? You had no idea that they would come back from an 1 run deficit? You must not make it through many games if the Cubs being down by 1 run is enough for you to quit watching. yeah but with the top offense in baseball, how can the cubs possibly come back with only five innings left to score? btw, free baseball in st louis. and big papi with a 3 run bomb to put the red sox up by 4 early against the brew crew.

aaron miles blooped a single into right to lead off the inning, and he's now 4-5 on the day and hitting .310 on the year :roll:

i don't know what to make of mclouth. nothing in his minor league track record indicates that he should be able to do this, but all he's done since getting regular playing time for the pirates is hit. he has a good approach at the plate. i guess whether or not you make the deal depends on whether you think he is for real.

The Twins got screwed in the deal simply by not getting the best prospect in the Mets organization. Seriously how do you even discuss the trade with the Mets with Fernando Martinez not being in the discussion. They didn't do bad, but would have been better off working something out with the Red Sox. that was exactly my reaction. if you're offering up the best pitcher in baseball, you had better make it clear that talks start with the best prospect in anyone's system.

not a blown save, and wind wasn't helping today... if anything he hit it through the wind a bit. marmol left a fastball up and somehow mclouth was sitting fastball, even though marmol had been throwing sliders since he'd come into the game.

The scary thing is Wuertz will be unavilable, Marmol and Lieber uncertain, so the first lines of defense from the pen will be Fox and Howry. Did Neal Cotts hit on Lous daughter or something? No, he just blows. Uh, his numbers at Iowa say otherwise. i don't trust cotts to throw enough strikes to be effective.
