  1. his ops is now up over .900, care to retract this statement?
  2. Maybe Edmonds was too busy [insert homosexual joke] to pinch hit Actually without the joke it may very well have been a situation where Edmonds wasnt ready to hit at that time. The folks that do know wont ever tell, but since we all are doing a great job with our lives lets take a little time and take turns managing the Cubs. ](*,) well what the hell was he doing, taking a dump? he didn't do a thing all game long, i think it's a pretty safe bet that he would've been available if his number was called in the ninth inning.
  3. And why are we benching DeRosa tomorrow, who just had a day off on Thursday and has been quite hot the last 8 games he's started? plus derosa's 3 year splits against LHP are .314/.385/.509/.894.
  4. i wish the cubs could sign minor league castoffs and have them turn into 1.000 OPS guys at the big league level
  5. and we have a dark horse! ryan ludwick - you know, the guy who was pretty much destined to be a AAAA player until the cardinals' horseshoe became lodged firmly up his rear - just knocked his 10th homer of the year to give the cards the win today! Ryan Ludwick - 10 Albert Pujols - 9 Rick Ankiel - 7 Alfonso Soriano - 10 Derrek Lee - 10 Geovany Soto - 8
  6. walkoff homer for ryan ludwick, his second homer of the game what a freakin crock
  7. The Cubs went down 5-4 in the top of the 5th and you left because you figured the game was over? You had no idea that they would come back from an 1 run deficit? You must not make it through many games if the Cubs being down by 1 run is enough for you to quit watching. yeah but with the top offense in baseball, how can the cubs possibly come back with only five innings left to score? btw, free baseball in st louis. and big papi with a 3 run bomb to put the red sox up by 4 early against the brew crew.
  8. turco with a great game today... detroit still up 3-2, but i suspect their fans are starting to see the gigueres and kiprusoffs of playoffs past
  9. aaron miles blooped a single into right to lead off the inning, and he's now 4-5 on the day and hitting .310 on the year
  10. i don't know what to make of mclouth. nothing in his minor league track record indicates that he should be able to do this, but all he's done since getting regular playing time for the pirates is hit. he has a good approach at the plate. i guess whether or not you make the deal depends on whether you think he is for real.
  11. apparently the d-rays haven't gotten the scouting report on yadier molina... just got their third caught stealing of the day. heart of the order coming up for the cards.
  12. The Twins got screwed in the deal simply by not getting the best prospect in the Mets organization. Seriously how do you even discuss the trade with the Mets with Fernando Martinez not being in the discussion. They didn't do bad, but would have been better off working something out with the Red Sox. that was exactly my reaction. if you're offering up the best pitcher in baseball, you had better make it clear that talks start with the best prospect in anyone's system.
  13. not a blown save, and wind wasn't helping today... if anything he hit it through the wind a bit. marmol left a fastball up and somehow mclouth was sitting fastball, even though marmol had been throwing sliders since he'd come into the game.
  14. please win... i'd prefer that my two favorite teams in sports NOT lose series to pittsburgh on the same day
  15. The scary thing is Wuertz will be unavilable, Marmol and Lieber uncertain, so the first lines of defense from the pen will be Fox and Howry. Did Neal Cotts hit on Lous daughter or something? No, he just blows. Uh, his numbers at Iowa say otherwise. i don't trust cotts to throw enough strikes to be effective.
  16. what if the cardinals blew a four run lead to the devil rays? oh wait that just happened in real life.
  17. my future son better win a game or hit a home run in the big leagues, or he is DEAD to me. congrats and best of luck this year, and thanks for the personal insights all along the way
  18. giambi's slumpbuster = more steroids
  19. And even after that horrible loss the Cubs will be 8 games over .500 and in first place in the central. though the pythagorean w-l will take a big hit
  20. Any everybody hates your constant whining and overreactions. add another one to the foes list! :good:
  21. appropriately enough, a long out for the loss.
