i feel horrible for him too, ned, but mostly because of what you're doing to his arm. -
They are but then they are managed by Dusty Lite. Yost and the Brewers know that neither Sabathia nor Sheets will be back next year with both being free agents. What do they care if they ruin their arms? they should care that their guys aren't burned out in the postseason, and yost is doing everything he can to plow them into the ground right now.

i.e. he's not even the leader on his own team he's the leader on his own team in VORP, and 6th in the AL. the 5 guys ahead of him aren't going to the playoffs. so yeah, he hasn't been the best player but if you're voting for guys who play for playoff teams or contenders, he's as good a choice as anyone. -

Check out his playoff stats from last year. and last year he averaged 3 less pitches per game and had fewer PAPs. ned yost has no ability to see the big picture, as evidenced by sabathia's usage and gallardo pitching another inning after hurting his knee.

no you couldn't. he's #2 in pitcher abuse points, so you could look up one pitcher who has the same workload as cc.

I definitely think we make the playoffs this year, but the Brewers are far from done. They're 5.5 up in the wild card so it would be in Yost's best interests to not run CC out there for 115 pitches every start. He wore down last year and they need him healthy. And it's the Pirates. Let him throw one more inning, get around 100-105, and let the pen finish it. They have no intention or hope of re-signing him, so they are probably hoping he breaks down after the playoffs. he was completely out of gas at the end of last season. it'd be wise to preserve his arm since he'll need to be good for them to make a run in the playoffs, but i don't think there's any hope of him being fresh, given his usage pattern since he arrived in milwaukee.

i dunno if wisconsin is clearly better. i really like their team except for their qb, and that's only the most important position on the field. they're gonna struggle with teams that don't let them run at will.
