you'd think that charlie manuel would learn not to keep burning through his bench so fast. he keeps having to put pitchers up there to pinch hit. -

the cubs lost a game to the nationals. -
average NL catcher: .256/.329/.391 soto: .285/.368/.509 soto was 3rd in vorp coming into tonight... i'd say that mauer and mccann have been better, but that's it. pretty damn good for a guy who projected as a backup coming into last season.

well good thing the pirates saved their best relief pitcher to use when down 6 runs, rather than put him in during the 8th inning when they were up by a run but in a jam.

great managing lou, bring in a guy who's bad against LHP and pretty lousy at fundamentals and have him lay down a bunt. and burn a PH in the meantime.
