oh voros has an assist against the flyers tonight, blair betts (7 points last year) has a goal and assist, and colton orr (2 points last year) has an assist. it's bad enough that we're getting trashed by the rangers in the season opener, but we're also getting lit up by their scrubs. -

i don't see ovechkin's name. Do you think I was being serious? not sure, but i remember playing washington in the playoffs last year, and getting pissed off when brashear/steckel would score. you know ovechkin is gonna get his points, so it's annoying when the 4th line scrubs also get on the scoreboard. -

haha, flyers gave up 3 goals in the first 8 minutes against the rangers.... i suspect i'll be seeing that a lot until our defense either gets healthy or we make a trade.

with brady out, san diego definitely has a better team than new england, but they also have the worst coach in the nfl going up against the best one.

penn state hasn't played anybody. i'd rank texas over psu based purely on the neutral-field win against oklahoma. mizzou, i guess, hasn't played a great schedule, but they blew nebraska's doors off in lincoln and they didn't lose a lot from a very good team last year. alabama won at georgia. if psu wins at ohio st and wisconsin they'll be in the national championship discussion but for now, they haven't done much to merit being ranked above the teams ahead of them. texas will lose either at home against mizzou or at texas tech.

in the sec, i'd be surprised if they don't have money on some of the games. You're telling me. That's why I support a floating system to which one conference's refs would not get comfortable in any one conference. Refs would have no visible concentions to any school or said conference, and maybe we see these refs start calling good games. yeah but if the school's boosters are paying off the refs, rotating refs isn't going to help anything. i think you just need to accept that everyone is going to cheat in the sec and whoever does the best job of it will probably win.

plus i have never liked that type of fake punt... you're looking to a slow punter to run the ball 16 yards for a first down? a pass or a snap to a blocker is a better idea there.

Well the season has started, weirdly, in europe. my flyers are looking pretty solid this year, except that derian hatcher might have to retire, ryan parent is out the next three months with a shoulder injury, and randy jones probably needs hip surgery - meaning that the flyers are almost guaranteed to start the season with an 18 year old defenseman in the starting lineup. yikes. i'll take montreal in the east and detroit in the west, detroit wins again (yawn)
