And his 'conceding' looks more to me like his 'coinciding'. plus "losing to wyoming is like losing to a big 10 team" is a stupid attempt at a flame. wyoming has lost to the three good teams in the mountain west (tcu, utah, byu) by 44-0, 40-7 and 54-7. they're God-awful. otherwise, the post was the usual brilliance we've come to expect from redflash.

i'm feeling pretty confident about va tech 23, maryland 13 other picks: psu 155, iowa 2 vandy 12, florida 7 baylor 55, texas 54 (missed extra point) So Texas wins? they don't win, but they don't get a loss either. by the way, i just found out that the va tech-maryland game was last night and the final was 23-13.

I'd prefer to do it the more productive and awesome new fashioned ways. if there's anything that the 2008 phillies taught us, it's that teams relying heavily on the long ball simply will not win in the playoffs.

well obviously we know that you know everything about... well, everything... but some of us like to throw in a contrarian (wrong) viewpoint every now and then.

what would be the point of resigning dempster? we already have zambrano, harden, lilly, peavy, marquis. and if someone gets hurt then there's marshall and maybe gaudin. if they have more money to blow, upgrade the offense at that point, not the starting pitching.

ok so just so we're clear, the sagarin predictor is gospel when it shows what you want it to show (florida is awesome) and meaningless when it doesn't show what you want it to show (big xii top 4 easily better than acc top 4, ball st could be competitive in the acc)

i like how this is a statement of fact, even though the sagarin ratings have the 4 big xii teams in the top 8, and the top 4 acc teams are ranked #16, 19, 23 and 24. by the way, your beloved sagain predictor suggests that ball st would, on average, win more often than not against every acc team except for north carolina.

well then perhaps you should amend your statement to "ball state would be, at best, the 11th best team in the acc."

This can also be written "they'd have a legitimate chance of winning the ACC". no, no they would not Sure they could, there's one, maybe two teams that can't win the conference right now. yup. duke is 1-3 and n.c. state is 0-4 in conference; the rest of the teams are within a game of the division leaders. those division leaders are georgia tech, who beat gardner-webb by 3 points, and maryland (lost to middle tennessee st), wake forest (lost at home to navy) and florida st (lost at home to wake forest, scored 3 points). i say that they could have a competitive game against the acc in a bowl game because the acc and big east because those conferences don't have any really good teams. the bcs teams from the other major conferences would kick the crap out of ball st.

yeah ball state-whoever would be an incredibly lopsided bcs game. though they probably could do all right if they got the winner of the big east or maybe even acc.

was he forced out? if so, lame. Why? He's Willinghamming that program. i'm pretty sure bill snyder willinghammed it before he retired. they went 9-13 in snyder's last two years, and 5 of those wins were over bad non-conference teams. being as the program was already sliding backward when snyder retired, is it reasonable to expect prince to have had them turned around in less than three years?

if texas tech and alabama go undefeated, psu fans will be pissed but there won't be a huge uproar. if one of those teams loses and psu is beat out for a spot in the national championship game by a one loss team, there will be a huge uproar from psu people and probably the entire big ten, and then the ncaa will make some more pointless tweaks to the system. they can tweak it all they want, but as long as there's not a playoff or at least a plus one situation, deciding the national champion will probably be a mess.
