  1. *waits anxiously for redflash response*
  2. He called it on the dude defending in the post who gave a little shove to the back before the ball arrived. The only problem with that was he waited to call it a full second and a half later once Moore came down and stripped the ball. Weak. plus it looked to me like the second defender got him across the wrists. i think it was a good call. they called way too many off-the-ball fouls but whatever, northwestern shouldn't have been playing basketball's version of prevent D for the last 8 minutes of the game.
  3. this ref is all about kramer, some white guy from purdue who apparently hustles and bleeds and spends all game on the floor. brian cardinal v2.0.
  4. we're being thoroughly outplayed by tampa bay tonight. john stevens couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.
  5. northwestern should've kept running their offensive set. at about 8 minutes they just started running down the shot clock and then throwing up a bad shot with 3 seconds left.
  6. andrus is coming up to play shortstop this year? i have a feeling he's going to be a terrible hitter, at least this year.
  7. and then the refs miss an obvious kicked ball by northwestern. this crew is incompetent.
  8. intentional foul? there's another ed hightower special.
  9. i was at a red sox-rangers game last year and was sitting right next to the bullpen when german was warming up. he's friggin huge... has to weight about 3 bills, and he's 6'7". i'm pretty sure that i'd be terrified to even step into the box against him.
  10. when's pete carroll going to say at press conference for a returning player that the guy is making the wrong decision because he would probably be a top 10 pick, and if he gets hurt or is less effective next year, he'll be costing himself millions of dollars? i'm not going to hold my breath for that to happen.
  11. The plight of the autistic trees wouldn't drive you to drink? Edit: Whoa, I thought you were referring to the caption. Just read the second comment now. Where did that come from? san diego's version of cubette
  12. I don't see anything. I see a guy who is being honest about a disagreement and logically & calmly explaining the basis of that disagreement. He also mentioned he wishes Sanchez well. There's nothing here worth noting, in my view. i don't think that's the proper time and place to express your disagreement with his decision. not to mention saying that guys who come out early fail more often than not.
  13. why are the fans dumb, because they don't want their franchise to be a laughingstock? steinbrenner paid off a small-time bookie to dig up dirt on dave winfield; he was behaving like an idiot and if i were a yankee fan i would've wanted him gone too.
  14. well, whoever does his course work for him has a job for another year.
  15. You know that Scott Wolif has a huge axe to grind with the program. He's a Veterans Committee stirrer in the Mariotti vein. that is a redflash-type comment, only for usc.
  16. he'll say go Pro. they interviewed him before the Rose Bowl and he more or less said that he encourages his kids to go pro if their draft stock is high. yeah and this is the perfect time for him to go. it's a weak qb class and he probably projects to be the #2 qb selected, behind stafford. next year he'd be picked behind mccoy, bradford, and possibly a couple other guys. Really? I would think he'd be a better pro than both of those guys. i guess you might think that, but consensus around the league does not agree with you. I (although I have no voice in the league what-so-ever) would tend to agree with jersey here. Mccoy over Sanchez? no way. i guess i would pick mccoy over sanchez, but i've never had the boner for the rocket arm that nfl teams have. bradford is ahead of sanchez everywhere i've seen mock drafts, though.

  19. isn't this more an argument against a salary floor?
  20. maybe, but isn't that exactly how Steinbrenner built up the Yankees? okay sure, they're not a small market team, but he bought a crappy organization for nearly nothing and poured tons of his own resources into it. they're in by far the largest media market in the country and they had more championships than any other organization in professional sports when he bought them. also he was wildly unpopular during the '80s; yankee fans regarded him as a liar and an an embarrassment to the organization, and they gave a standing ovation at yankee stadium when it came out that he had been banned from baseball "for life."

  22. trading derosa does make me fear for the times when aramis gets hurt. being able to put derosa over there and then fontenot at 2b didn't result in a huge loss of offense. unless i'm missing something, doesn't miles become the backup third baseman now? the dropoff from ramirez to miles a lot worse than ramirez to derosa.
