  1. i wouldn't pick chung. mostly because the only other football player i know of who was named chung was eugene chung, who was drafted way too early by the patriots because they panicked about the good OTs coming off the board, traded up and drafted a fat-ass tackle at #13 when nobody else thought he was a first rounder. call it superstition.
  2. yeah i did that to a couple of autodraft people.
  3. no easy wild card picks this year... definitely no thome-like omissions.
  4. feel free to hurt someone, hawks. preferably brian gionta.
  5. I know the stolen base break-even point is around 72%, but i was wondering today some other things are taken into account. for example, if a pitcher tries to pick off a runner and throws the ball away, the runner moves up at least one and maybe two bases. I know this doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen sometimes. Obviously with a baserunner like jacoby ellsbury on first there's a better chance of this happening, while the pitcher doesn't throw over to first very often if prince fielder is the baserunner. there's also the loss of focus on the batter. if the pitcher is rushing his delivery or simply not concentrating as much on the batter, i would think that there's a better chance that he'd throw a poor pitch with a fast runner on base, and that could result in better results for the batter. on the other hand, jacoby ellsbury is more likely to be picked off - the type of pickoff where he's leading off too far and doesn't get a caught stealing. i'm just wondering if these things can be properly accounted for in a study, rather than simply the expected runs with the runner moving up an extra base versus the loss of expected runs because he is caught stealing.
  6. i'm glad we have a presence in asia, but it would be really nice if some of these guys turn out to be good.
  7. plus he changed locations twice... i'm guessing that plus nsbb fetish combined to make his price outrageous.
  8. gus johnson has been wasted on this entire tournament.
  9. That was thrill. He was down to like 20 bucks really fast. He also nominated Zito. (a) i can't believe someone bid $2 and took zito away from him (b) you can actually nominate decent players and get them for a dollar... you don't have to nominate guys who won't see the major leagues, or guys who are awful players.
  10. who the hell nominated/drafted gordon beckham???
  11. Not everyone has to get married. As long as he isn't hurting anyone else, who cares if he drinks everyday? probably the employer that is paying him millions of dollars a year, since he's also a very public face for that employer. and i know it's cool for people in their 20s to say "gettin drunk and gettin laid, what's wrong with that"... but if you're still living that life in your late 40s, you're kind of a creep.
  12. i don't know if gillispie has a drinking problem or not, but anytime a rich pro athlete gets a dui everyone says "why don't these idiots just hire a driver, it's not like they can't afford it." that being said, he's a 47 year old who has never been married and apparently still goes out drinking and womanizing. that suggests some sort of problem, at least as far as who he is and how mature he is.
  13. wow $220 for dunn? that's crazy. it was 50 when i got it. yeah anything up above $200 used to be reserved for really great players and hall of famers like cobb or something.
  14. how pissed off is hawk harrelson right now?
  15. he had too much homework. OVER SPRING BREAK TOO.
  16. darryl's probably my second favorite after kevin.
  17.
  18. wow $220 for dunn? that's crazy.
