  1. hoffpauir in cf would be a complete disaster.
  2. Sucks to be playing against someone on a totally different level than him, I'm guessing. Then again, as the second-best player on his own team he should be used to it. The non-Hansbrough Heels are off to a good start though. yeah griffin is really showing him who's boss, look at this ass kicking
  3. he hit another one in the 3rd. otherwise lilly has been very good. bradley hit a 2 run homer in the 3rd to get his long-awaited revenge on the indians.
  4. I agree completely. Use the pitcher that is best suited to get an out when needed in each certain situation. I certainly don't understand why pitchers get upset when they aren't named the "closer." Must just be a money thing. it's probably more a macho thing than a money thing. the closer finishes out the game and gets the notoriety. nobody plays hell's bells for a middle reliever.
  5. unfortunately jim calhoun is still going strong.
  6. oh that is just a fantastic bump
  7. (a) it was 10 or 11 seconds (b) hold onto the ball where? out of bounds? i'm pretty sure you can't do that for longer than 5 seconds without it being a turnover. the correct play would have been to call time out when the primary passes were covered and the deep guy was covered. again, it's not risking a turnover if nobody covers the deep man and he's wide open. you throw the ball down there, if it's off by a bit he goes and gets it. the only way it's risking a turnover is if you throw it to him when he's being covered. that's why it was stupid, not because jay wright called an inbounds play with a deep option.
  8. clearly it's common to send a guy deep in case the defense falls asleep and doesn't cover him - in that situation you have an easy lob pass that the guy can go collect even if it's off the mark. however, just like any other pass that the guy is making, you don't throw it unless the guy is free from a defender.
  9. right because i'm sure jay wright told the inbounder to throw a hail mary to a teammate who was well defended.
  10. what a horrendous brain fart
  11. you had to do it, didn't you verne
  12. stop saying nova is perfect from the line, verne
  13. they can't, all their guys are about to foul out anyway.
  14. nova is getting boned over pretty good now
  15. blake griffin may be a robot
  16. this will be another one of those games where it looks like the higher seed could win, then the #1 moves on again.
  17. can't believe villanova is doing this well with scottie reynolds having an awful tourney.
  18. if you're gonna foul blair when he's going to the hoop with a full head of steam, you'd better hit him with a crowbar or something.
  19. go nova. i'm pretty sure i need nova and mich st to win to have any chance at cashing.
  20. yeah from what i have read, hoffpauir would be a very good defensive player at 1b but below average at the outfield corners. i think the people who are lobbying for him to start are doing so mostly because there's a decent chance he'll be about as good as lee this season, without paying $10M for that production. but really, unless there's a way to trade lee - which would be very difficult given his contract and no-trade clause - it doesn't make sense to bench him and play hoffpauir.
  21. we can use more TEs since l.j. smith is gone, so let's go with cornelius ingram, te, florida. i think he may end up being the best TE in this draft, if he stays healthy.
  22. aaron miles is 3-4, i'd like to see him playing every day too.
  23. i never said i was. i was just curious whether these other things have been accounted for, or could be accounted for, in studies.
