  1. Actually, their bullpen handles us pretty well......... vs. Houst AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI% vs. starters 153 30 51 11 2 5 25 16 26 0.333 0.405 0.529 0.934 0.377 3.83 0.071 0.211 vs. relievers 144 18 37 9 0 7 21 17 32 0.257 0.333 0.465 0.799 0.286 3.90 0.076 0.171 yeah but "starters" includes mike hampton, russ ortiz and brian moehler, who are all terrible.
  2. well at least wandy's up to 57 pitches... he's pretty good at home so i'd be happy with getting into the bullpen early.
  3. better keep calling that all game, blue.
  4. 81st place... Jason Kendall 41 -- kind of a gimme Travis Ishikawa 15 -- good for a 1B, unless you had the remarkable foresight to select david ortiz Alexi Casilla 40 -- surprised more people didn't pick him, but i guess he's kind of obscure Andy Laroche 5 -- was betting on him not figuring it out this year; looks like i was wrong Cesar Izturis 29 -- he's fine Wladimir Balentien 18 -- he has been awful, but unfortunately he was also hurt Willy Taveras 37 -- what a horrible signing Austin Kearns 14 -- bad, but francoeur was a popular choice who has cleaned up for his owners Ian Snell 22 -- peripherals suck, whip sucks, he sucks Daniel Cabrera 18 -- pitched so badly he got DFA'ed... that hurts.
  5. Well that makes me feel better. :x yeah i read that and thought "bad baseball player"
  6. that part won't last
  7. After thoroughly trouncing the Astros (24 baserunners in 9 innings!), the cubs look to keep the ball rolling against the astros and their terrible television announcers. the matchup: carlos zambrano (4-2, 3.72 ERA) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ILi2YcJWxcM/SZduXyA8cDI/AAAAAAAAAEw/fjl2D33UB3w/s400/Cholo+Zambrano.jpg versus magic wandy rodriguez (5-5, 2.97 ERA) http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/065r5EId1kfc1/340x.jpg astros looked anemic on tuesday night and will shake things up with the starting lineup: 1. Jimmy Wynn, CF http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/jimmy_wynn_autograph.jpg 2. Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Terry Puhl, RF http://www.baseballhalloffame.ca/images/inductees/terryPuhl.jpg 3. Bob Watson, 1B http://thebsreport.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/1976.jpg 4. Derek Bell, LF http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_m4FI1xplsaE/R3BGNiC-SWI/AAAAAAAAA5U/PdX-TYXWCqU/s400/Derek%2BBell.jpg 5. Doug Rader, 3B http://www.astroland.net/72toppsrader.jpg 6. Bill Doran, 2B http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/bill_doran_autograph.jpg 7. Roger Metzger, SS (career .584 OPS!) http://www.baseball-reference.com/bpv/images/e/e3/Metzgerroger.jpg 8. J.R. Towles http://www.autographinglive.com/JR%20Towles-1.jpg Frankly, not a great lineup and a bit long in the tooth, so I like the Cubs in this one. Go Cubs!!!
  8. hopefully the dirty laundry is soon to follow
  9. can we stop saying that he can't take a walk? he walked 65 times in 152 games and his career IsoD was about .100, he can take a walk.
  10. the bad news is they'll be guys like huseby, rundle and logan watkins who aren't really that good. They could also be guys like Jay Jackson and Sean Gallagher. didn't they basically sign for slot? most of the cubs' late-round bonus babies have been reaches.
  11. the bad news is they'll be guys like huseby, rundle and logan watkins who aren't really that good.
  12. bradley is apparently the only guy who can't destroy moehler's 86 mph "fast"ball
  13. or tyler colvin with a few more walks. at least patterson/pie were legitimately very good in CF.
  14. Haha, they said a 12-20 homer ceiling. We gotta great hitter on our hands. yup, 12-20 homer ceiling, strikes out too much, might have to move out of CF. what are the positives here, other than him being a gamer and a competitor.
  15. oh good, great tools but strikes out. i thought we already had tyler colvin.
  16. i like how their video clips of beckham are of grounding out, since that's all he's done as a big leaguer.
