  1. thank you I feel like he gives me a bad name. Get off your knees for god's sake man. Stop looking for approval. edit: And you had the audacity to question the same thing about Maybin/Rasmus? Give me a break. look you said that you've never seen anyone say that maybin has a higher ceiling than rasmus when, for most of their minor league careers, maybin was ranked higher as a prospect than rasmus.
  2. lincecum took a no-no into the 7th the previous game. the padres suck ass.
  3. carlos henry is quickly becoming one of my favorite prospects of all time.
  4. We'll miss his talent. Physically at least, he's a beast. Iowa is in decent shape with another 4 star TE but this dude looks like a freak. Illinois going from being out of the picture a couple months ago to earning his commitment because he thought the coaches were guys he would like to hang out with is fairly odd though. And I would submit that by his junior year the Zooker is out of Champaign. because he gets fired or leaves for another job? the only way i see him getting canned that quickly is for recruiting violations.
  5. You're welcome! soto was playing well the last month. but thanks for reminding me that i need a new catcher now.
  6. 78 hits in 74 innings isn't extremely hittable. but yeah they should probably just pull the plug on him if he's pitching hurt and isn't going to be effective.
  7. actually it got pathetic and creepy a long time ago.
  8. psu is getting a lot more early recruits than i can remember. based on scout rankings, they have 5* and 4* QB commits, a pair of 4* DT's, a 4* MLB, two 4* OL, a 4* RB, a 3* OL, 3* DE and 1* WR (jordan norwood's younger brother, who will probably end up being better than everyone thinks). this weekend they're doing a lifting fundraiser and there are supposedly a couple of other highly-regarded recruits that may commit.
  9. redverbs you are a huge homer.
  10. yeah i don't think either guy projects as a starter, but they could be acceptable backups at the big league level so that hendry might stop wasting money on the henry blancos and aaron miles of the world.
  11. kyler burke is 3-3 with 2 doubles. he's got 30 doubles in 80 games this year. i still think he's an intriguing prospect.
  12. too damn bad, play better and then you won't get benched.
  13. There really isn't much of a difference between Dempster and Lilly and Pineiro and Lohse, career wise, as starters. They are all relatively, average starters who've had 1-2 "good" seasons as starters in about 7-10 years of their careers. pineiro had been lousy for years when he signed with the cards. his "good" seasons came in the early 2000s. lilly (with the exception of 2005) has been consistently better than pineiro for quite a while.
  14. You just now figured that out? no i figured it out a long time ago, but the cubs are not creative enough to do something like that.
  15. instead of spending big $$$ on pitchers like zambrano, dempster and lilly, the cubs just need to sign dave duncan for $10M a year and then sign a bunch of losers like pineiro, wellemeyer, lohse and looper to pitch well for about 35 bucks a year.
  16. Why would someone who is asserting that Rasmus isn't bad post when he's playing badly. OH HEY GUYS, NM, HE Sox. MY BAD. And then two weeks later, OH HEY GUYS, NM, HES GOOD. MY BAD. Nothing in his track record points to bad. Everything points to him being a pretty good to really good player at some point. i think the point was that we don't need an update every time the guy does something good.
  17. Schumaker always hits over .300, I don't know why this surprises you. He's hit hit over .300 the last two seasons. yeah i forgot that his BABIP is .350 every season.
  18. brendan ryan and skippy schumaker are hitting over .300
  19. Double play ball hit to 2b, the 2b ump ruled that Theriot was off the base when he caught and threw to first. Oh, and he was wrong. Again. Lou came out to argue this time when i become commissioner of MLB, that umpire will be fired immediately. not because he screwed over the cubs, but anyone who blows a call as badly as the one in the first inning cannot be an umpire at the highest level of baseball.
  20. this is one of those games that makes me favor robot umpires.
  21. can't believe jeff baker, koyie hill and kevin hart went down in order. i figured we'd score at least 2-3 runs that inning.
