  1. "I slipped the ump a few Andrew Jackson's. Not his fault." he was probably asking for his money back after the reed johnson "catch"
  2. please (a) stop posting and (b) seek psychiatric help.
  3. "strike one" to bradley was also high to every other hitter tonight.
  4. fire this a-hole and replace him with questec.
  5. how does this journeyman loser have an ERA under 1.00? oh that's right he pitches for the cardinals.
  6. even if we lose that half inning made this game great.
  7. when bobby cox did this last year it was widely praised by the sabermetric sites. the chance of a ball being hit to LF in that single AB are pretty small, and even if it's hit to LF it's more likely to be a routine fly ball or single than a difficult play. you roll the dice a little bit for one AB, but you set up better matchups later in the inning and burn one less pitcher from the bullpen.

  9. bobby cox did this last year, it was awesome.
  10. well i don't blame him for walking the great nick stavinoha.
  11. i think they may end up trading him and eating most of the contract in the process, just to get him out of town.
  12. boy thank God his contract doesn't run through 2014, that would suck.
  13. http://www.canadianbusiness.com/slideshow/2008/baseball-salaries/images/ryan_ludwick.jpg to be followed up by him burning a cross later tonight.
  14. oh hey another hard hit ball right at someone, haven't seen much of that tonight.
  15. yeah i love how joe seems to think he was a mediocre 2B and not (arguably) the best of all time at that position.
  16. yeah he's a really good fastball hitter, i'm not really sure who came up with the scouting report on him.
  17. i think he gets overlooked because he flopped twice at low-a. now i'd argue that trying him at full season ball was a bad idea in 2007 - he was raw and struggled in his debut in the AZL - but he's moved fairly slowly so far. but he has nice tools and i'm looking forward to seeing how he does the next year or two.
  18. if nothing else, this game just got more entertaining.
  19. well yeah they lose him for 50 games but they also get 100+ games of roided-up manny.
  20. i think jeff baker is worse than fontenot, if that's possible.
  21. if murder becomes legal i'm killing soriano immediately after i run down ludwick with my car. i don't want to watch him suck ass for the next 5 years.
  22. well rasmus keeps getting on base; i'm not sure it's a great idea to walk two guys in a row and intentionally load the bases even if ankiel and yadi suck ass.
