yes i'm sure a righthanded pitcher intentionally put his hand up to block a hard throw from the shortstop to first baseman. Baseball players are not renowned for their intelligence and common sense. i suspect he just slides like an idiot and is trying to distract theriot. i highly doubt that he wants to get his bare hand in the way of it.

i'm usually too angry at joe morgan to hear much of what miller says.

i think the chance that he makes the big leagues is pretty small, but if he puts it together he could be really good. he controls the strike zone fairly well and has nice doubles power, which might grow into home run power as he matures. the cubs don't have a lot of high ceiling players and that's how i view burke.
