    navy's kicker just shanked a 30 yard field goal at the end of the half.... could've been up 3 scores at halftime.

    10-7 now. arizona is up 21-0 on wazzu... halfway through the first quarter. that team is just wretched.

    lafayette beat colgate and holy cross struggled to beat lehigh today. next week is essentially the PL championship unless either team blows their nov. 21st game. lafayette and hc will each be 8-1 and undefeated in the league next week, and each will be nationally ranked... probably the best PL game in many years.

    you just said that your fans take limos to the rose bowl, which would seem to invite the spoiled children jokes.

    it's us against a good team/very good defense, calls are going to be annoyingly conservative. in other news, if notre dame loses to a team that lost at home to temple last week, i'm going to have a hearty chuckle.

    pretty sure i could throw for at least 200 against michigan.

    michigan's defense is really awful. they've given up 400+ yards and there are still 20 minutes left in the game. if michigan loses they're unlikely to go to a bowl. minnesota is laying a complete egg against illinois, but they have s.d. state next week, so they should get to bowl eligible even if they lose today.

    how do you think this will impact your BCS hopes? we might get a home game in the i-aa playoffs if we win out. serious question - how many teams make the i-aa playoffs? 32? 16 but I believe it's expanding to 20 next year. how willl that work then? four teams get a first round bye?

    they're losing by 4 points to northwestern at home.

    holy cross is struggling with lehigh.... lafayette-colgate is a big game with those teams each among the top 3 in the PL. so far we have beaten colgate and play lafayette next week. hopefully we can beat lehigh and lafayette and then finish off an undefeated PL campaign with me in attendance at bucknell in 2 weeks.

    other ABs by castro: fly out to deep cf on 1-0 count... gameday put the dot at the wall in the deepest part of the park. strike out looking (outside corner) on 3-2 pitch. grounded into force out to 1b on 2-1 pitch overall 2-6, 1 k on the day. looks like he had a handful of chances at 2b and handled them with no trouble.

    i would say that there's a bigger concern about him not drawing walks (he's an early in the count hitter) than there is about ability to hit for average at higher levels. he squares the ball up well and doesn't strike out much so he should continue to hit for solid average. however, a guy with a 280/310/350 line isn't worth all that much. as for his defense, i think people like his range and arm but he's only 19 and is 6'1", so if he grows another couple of inches and fills out there's a possibility that he'll outgrow the position.

    castro is the only cub in the lineup for mesa today. so far he's 2-3: line drive single to cf on first pitch, line drive single to lf on 0-1 pitch, ground out to 3b on first pitch. he also has a stolen base.

    i'm suggesting that after digging a hole for a particular race for 200 years, it might be nice to throw them a ladder rather than making them climb out of the hole on their own.
