  1. darn he was doing great there.
  2. even if wisconsin fans/grads are tired of playing in the outback every year and tired of playing tennessee, there are a lot more wisconsin fans than northwestern fans and wisconsin people travel better.
  3. yeah, it's really not, because only 10 points of it are in OBP and, as stated above, his defense also improves with a shift to 2b.
  4. considering how quickly the voice of reason disappears when things go south for usc, i'm guessing he just wasn't around by that point.
  5. holy cross is 0-6... can we have our coach back?
  6. what objective does it serve to throw a play action pass with under a minute left when you're ahead by 14 points? unless your answer is "to win by more points and embarrass the other team" you answered incorrectly. if i were a ucla offensive lineman i would have attempted to low bridge every usc player i encountered on the next possession until the game was over or until i was ejected from the game.
  7. pete carroll is indeed a dick. congrats on running up the score against ucla; still doesn't erase getting completely bent over by oregon and stanford and losing to a bad washington team (remember when washington was ranked??? lol) by the way, washington st football should be contracted.
  8. fire john stevens plz.
  9. way to go acc. three games against the SEC today and three losses, including two games in which the acc team was favored.
  10. No, it's criminal how little support he gets while honks like Gossage and Morris just keep bitching until people let them in despite the fact that their woefully underqualified. sadly, larkin has a decent shot at getting in on the first ballot while trammell is getting 1/4 of the vote every year. in reality they were both very good players who probably deserve an equal shot at the hall.
  11. isaiah thomas wouldn't be a bad choice.
  12. and to stick up for the patriot league football teams - they're getting blown out every year because PL schools do not give athletic-based scholarships for football. some of the players are on scholarships but they're solely academic or need-based. it's basically impossible to compete with top CAA teams when many of those guys are on full ride.
  13. Your boys are giving Villanova a hell of a fight. Go HC. Montana's continuing to prove why they're an overrated top seed and undefeated team, as they're losing to South Dakota State 24-14 at home in the second quarter. Good effort by Holy Cross today but they lost 38-28. yeah we acquitted ourselves much better than most PL teams do in the playoffs. i can remember many years where colgate or lafayette or lehigh got stomped by 30 or 40 points by a team like nova or delaware or umass. our defense was predictably terrible - they were awful last week against a bad bucknell team (only gave up 23 points, but gave up over 300 yards rushing, including nearly 200 to a slow qb) and then gave up over 500 today. our qb (legitimate nfl prospect at 6'3", 225 lbs) was terrific against a great defense, going 31-51, 347 yards, 4 td, 0 int. he should get drafted or at least a real tryout at an nfl camp.
  14. duke and wake forest are tied at 14 and they've barely played half of the first quarter.
  15. I don't mean to criticize your translation b/c I couldn't have done it but this part made me laugh, especially the Solar Table Sox part. actually as long as you can access the website freetranslation.com i'm quite sure you could have done it.
  16. Roberto Alomar Bert Blyleven Barry Larkin Mark McGwire Tim Raines Alan Trammell
  17. decided to pass on watching holy cross get blown out by villanova and instead am going hiking with a friend.
  18. it doesn't say that.
  19. i dunno if he cheated on her or not, but if you're tiger woods, it's pretty hard to do anything and be discreet about it.
  20. lock the thread please, no reason to talk about this guy.
  21. here you go... i'm sure this translation is impeccable:
  22. Because that's where the NC game is being played ok, so what's alabama doing there? can their entire team really afford to pay to watch florida play texas in person???
  23. I agree defensively it makes a lot of sense. However Theriot doesn't have the bat to handle 2b. Theriot's value is that he has a decent bat and decent glove for SS, and is making near the league minimum. While defensively he probably fits better at 2b, offensively the bar is much higher and I personally don't think he can reach it, PLUS he's about to finally start making money in arbitration. I think if/when Castro establishes himself as a major leaguer that's about when we need to start looking to trade Theriot. the mlb average for 2b last year was .271/.336/.414/.750 and at ss was .270/.326/.392/.718. that's really a pretty small difference, and when you factor in that theriot's deficiencies (lack of range, marginal arm) are less important at 2b, he becomes more valuable as a defender at that position. overall his value may decline very slightly at ss but it's really not enough of a difference to run him off the team.
  24. why the quotation marks? I still think Suh ought to win it. He won't, but he should. well the person who wins the heisman trophy is the person who receives the most votes, so i don't think RedFlash's sarcasm or putdown or whatever makes sense here.
  25. why the quotation marks?
