  1. guess who had a game-tying single and then a game-winning single in extra innings today? that's right, bitches. ROBINSON CHIRINOS.
  2. paterno? come on. it's the athletic department (won't play fewer than 7 home games each year because they use the profits to fund the rest of the university's athletic programs) and the list of BCS conference teams who play more than one non-pushover outside of conference is pretty short.
  3. yeah you're giving him way too much credit. he's an abject moron.
  4. No, the funny part is taking anything on Bleacher Report this seriously. This "article" was a troll post worked to perfection. This guy's laughing his ass off somewhere because of all the fuss he's caused. you're confusing "troll" with "moron"
  5. chopping vegetables is dangerous too, i know a guy who severed a tendon in his finger because the knife slipped and sliced open his finger.
  6. the funny part is that he bashes killebrew for only walking and hitting home runs, but then also bashes ozzie smith, who did pretty much everything the "play the game the right way" crowd loves except for being white.
  7. including wales and macedonia???
  8. yeah top 10 seems a little crazy to me. i feel like i could pick 10 names off the top of my head that i definitely like better than lee without having to give it much thought: harper trout shelby miller julio teheran matt moore j. profar m. machado d. jennings j. taillon d. mesoraco i'd put montero and lawrie ahead of him too, though there are some "what position do they play?" concerns with those guys. i like taijuan walker and arodys vizcaino more as well.
  9. yeah that's what i didn't understand about scotti's use of the term "balk", as well as the phrase "try to get an awful lot of signings through the Commish's office." that seems to imply that selig or whoever has the power to actually prevent these signings from occurring. i know they'll delay approval, but if everyone has agreed before the deadline then i'm pretty sure there's not a damn thing that the commissioner's office can do to stop them. as long as ricketts and hendry don't mind getting mean text messages from uncle bud, they can do whatever they want.
  10. Well good. Then he's signed! With phrases like "right now" and "after the deadline." If you ended discussions, those aren't the words you'd use. If you've signed but can't talk about it until August 15th, you might say something like that. My guess would be that he is hedging his bet until the league approves. Sounds like the Cubs are going to try to get an awful lot of signings through the Comish's office. He might balk at a few. how can he do that? a kid wants to sign for a certain amount, the team agrees, they sign. if he doesn't approve them, can't both sides just sue MLB?
  11. 3 games for what? mlb doesn't have rules against playing poker and as far as i know, they don't have a personal conduct policy like the NFL, so the commissioner can't just decide to suspend guys who [expletive] up away from the ballpark.
  12. This goes double for online poker. The US is the only country that places restrictions on it, and the restrictions basically kill it in this country. Swing and a miss. The US restrictions have completely killed it (banhammered) and it is pretty regulated through most of Europe. But yeah, it's really stupid. Legalize, set standard practices, regulate it and tax it. same with online sports gambling. or really online gambling in general. it's really obnoxious that there are massive deficits and yet lawmakers are ruling out significant revenue streams because they enjoy legislating their own morals onto the entire country.
  13. starting to look like i have a dangerously good chance of winning this week... i have a start in hand and a 35 point lead. my offense has been crazy - .400 batting average with 9 HR, 20 RBI and 19 R in just 3 days. kipnis has homered in 4 straight games and has 23 points already.
  14. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=17600597 pretty good pop... didn't look like a home run off the bat IMO
  15. gameday says marmol threw 8, maybe 9 strikes to alvarez.
  16. that's an.... optimistic way of reading it.
  17. viewtopic.php?f=29&t=55324&p=2262664#p2262664
  18. He does really well on the small pots, but every time he's in a huge pot he chokes and loses the hand.
  19. i want to see a pitcher wind up and then throw at larussa in the dugout. what a turd.
  20. Not just this season. It's the first 6-HR game since 2006. lol who would've thought that the 6-home run games would come in 2006 and 2011, our two worst offensive teams in the last 6 years.
