  1. sixers contracted from nba :(
  2. rubi silva now 4-for-17 on stolen base attempts this year.
  3. ah yes the ever-popular "overwhelm them with mediocrity" trade proposal.
  4. castro's lack of offensive progress this year has been disheartening.
  5. where do these scouting reports come from? i tried finding info on him a couple of weeks ago and there was nothing.
  6. hell i hopped on that bandwagon after his second start. didn't know what his signing bonus was but sometimes you can hit it big on those raw lower bonus guys (castro, pie). nice to see him pitching so well against older competition and missing plenty of bats.
  7. 10 bb, 11 k in 7 games. he's our two true outcomes player.
  8. something tells me that the pitches/strikes data for peoria is inaccurate, unless jose rosario has somehow thrown 34 pitches in 7 innings, 30 for strikes, and all of those balls came during the 1 walk he issued.
  9. Then Figueroa comes in and blows the perfecto, no-hitter, AND shutout. wasn't a perfect outing... he hit two batters. one of whom was chase utley.
  10. holy [expletive] on frank del valle's outing so far.
  11. Probably about 10 points low I'd wager lol probably more than that. i mean, people give guys like campana and trout 80 scores in speed. which is justified because they're faster than like 99% of baseball players. hamilton needs his own score.
  12. that seems like quite an excessive investment on a fledgling video game company.
  13. Uhhhhh Listen to the Waddle and Silvy interview. Speculation is that why on Earth would Rose go to Andrews in the first place if everything has been successful? It does raise red flags. Yeah I can't think of any reason why anyone, and certainly not a star athlete, would go back to the doctor after having major surgery.
  14. look it may not be perfect, but i remember doing an exercise a couple of years ago where i created a system of selection. pretty much all of the controversial omissions from the past 10 years were included. i guess people will still argue about #5 and #6, but i think a four team playoff keeps the regular season really important while making the national championship selection less shitty.
  15. i vaguely recall some speculation that he might have to move off 3b. it's probably not based on much, though. scouting of the DSL is really poor. love what he's doing so far though. if he can show power and patience in the NWL at age 18... well i'll be excited about that. really, even holding his own in that league would be solid.
  16. someone pretending to be hayden simpson has struck out 6 batters in 3 hitless innings while walking just 1.
  17. check out this guy pretty good pop (18 home runs in 61 games), and draws his share of walks (30 in 61 games) - but he's struck out 114 times in 61 games. even brett jackson laughs at that. more than half of his at bats have ended with him striking out.
  18. beef welington came out of the i-cobs game in the 3rd inning. looks like there was a sac fly in the previous frame, so maybe he was hurt during a play at the plate.
  19. utley still went for .259/.344/.425/.769, which is well above average for a 2b, and he had a low BABIP. if he gets somewhat healthy - and he's been playing minor league games lately - he's definitely a big upgrade over the garbage they've been rolling out at 2b this year (combined .253/.280/.398/.679). howard isn't great, but again - his .253/.346/.488/.834 line last year is a good bit better than the .260/.322/.419/.741 line they've gotten from 1b this year. especially if they can start platooning howard under the guise of keeping him healthy (.266/.370/.550/.920 last year against RHP).
  20. If you had the money to start you could easily make lots of money each season. Don't bet the line but rather just the who will win. If you bet 50 bucks each and every game against the Nets you will have won 59 times and only lost 7. Say you only get 50% return on wins that makes the profit equation (59x$25) - (7x$50). That would be $1,125 profit this season. Obviously the Nets are having one of the worst seasons ever but you could each year wait a month to see who are the worst 2-4 teams and then do this. You would make 3-4 grand a year doing this but you would need the starting capital. Oh and you could do this for each sport, although I wouldn't do it with football (too unpredictable and too few games). sounds foolproof to me. i'm pretty sure the nets were getting 2-to-1 odds to win when they were like 5-45 and playing on the road against the celtics.
  21. is cates one of the guys whose mechanics are being fixed? he was God awful in daytona. i pretty much know nothing about shane lindsay, but he's 27 years old and appears to have bounced around quite a bit. and his walk numbers are appalling.
  22. i remember reading - i think this was even before the draft - that there didn't seem to be anything mechanically wrong with his swing. not a slow bat or stepping in the bucket. he just swings and misses a lot, but then he also squares up a lot of balls when he does make contact. seems pretty weird.
