  1. dolis would be awesome if he could actually come close to hitting the spot he's trying to throw at.
  2. judging by the gamecast, vitters swung at a first pitch in the dirt with the bases loaded and the pitcher having walked the previous two batters on 9 pitches total. :? did hit a sac fly on a 1-2 pitch though.
  3. i don't like the idea of giving him time off after a really bad start. hey it's not punishment, we're just going to sit you for a couple of weeks after you gave up 8 runs in 4 innings. plus it just gives him time to think about how he just pitched like crap.
  4. Did Baez have the biggest overall jump on the board? 66 spots. jackie bradley and jose fernandez are ranked above baez and he didn't have either one in his offseason top 120. barf on the cards having an elite hitting prospect destroying AA at age 20. at least shelby miller seems to suck now. also, the white sox system is God awful. no players in the top 120. really annoying that the draft rules were changed to accommodate [expletive] reinsdorf.
  5. lol @ kyle for his recent hand-wringing about the "disappearance" of vogelbach's home run power after 6 games (in which he hit 6 doubles).
  6. lol yeah a team in the playoff race would have little to lose by giving playing time to a raw prospect who basically hasn't played baseball in over a year and is reportedly very out of shape.

  8. blake dewitt now hitting a robust .155 with a .464 ops after an 0-4, 3k game.
  9. jose rosario throws a lot of long outings for a pitcher in the low minors. i give him a good score on tonight's game despite 6 runs (4 earned) allowed. 0 bb/7 k, and of the 10 hits allowed, only one was for extra bases (that being a double).
  10. i'm happy that they gave him a chance to play regularly - it's worth finding out if a guy with plus plus speed and plus defense can hit enough to be a productive player in the big leagues. certainly appears that the answer is no.
  11. color me confused at why matt cerda (.391 obp) was demoted from tennessee to daytona.
  12. Doubtful. If anything, we'll be seeing him in November. For now, I expect to see a lot of Luis Valbuena, although I'd prefer to call back Cardenas to see what he can do as a full time player. There's really no need to play Baker or Mather too much. that's very optimistic to project the cubs in the world series.
  13. lol pierzynski, you have to be kidding me
  14. .469 after a home run in his third at bat.
  15. well that's one way for vitters to stay away from those strikeouts that has everyone so alarmed (with regard to jackson) - see 10 pitches in 6 at bats.
  16. lol brett jackson flies out to corey patterson
  17. agreed. the strikeouts are a concern, but he still does a lot of things well. if we're not counting rizzo any more, i'd still have him up with almora (assuming he signs) and baez, still pretty solidly ahead of vitters and szczur and (i guess) candelario.
  18. 4 pitches seen in 3 plate appearances today :x
  19. larry suarez can't be too far from being released. pretty disappointing given that he got a sizable bonus IIRC.
