  1. almora plays the game so well that opponents play the game the WRONG way against him. he's reached three times on errors tonight.
  2. by the way, what is the expletive? ryan dempster [has sex]? ryan dempster [poops]?
  3. so you didn't post this condescending and sarcastic comment? which, i will reiterate, had absolutely nothing to do with what i wrote.
  4. The [expletive] is that. No clue. Googled Ryan and Jenny Dempster and that came up. I had heard some rumors. My girlfriend works at Children's Memorial. well that settles it, ryan dempster is banging cindy sandberg on the side.
  5. yeah you have three kids under the age of 6, one of which needs significant medical attention, what's the big deal about being an absentee dad for a few months
  6. oh i must have missed the part where there was a press conference and he held up a list of teams and the braves were #2 on the list. apparently that was common knowledge and not third-hand whispers down the lane. most people believe that the dodgers are #1, so i'm having a hard time understanding why the braves - nowhere close to los angeles geographically - would be #2. i've seen reports that he'd like to be on the west coast because of family, so maybe the braves were on the list of teams he'd consider but ultimately decided not to play for them. You can't see why he would want to play for a playoff contender? Really? (a) learn to read. the comment you posted has nothing to do with what i wrote. (b) dempster has pitched in the playoffs before. there is no guarantee that the braves will be going to the playoffs. a player may value stability in his personal life more than uprooting his life for two months. kerry wood decided not to be traded to the phillies last year.
  7. from what i can tell, fredi gonzalez was his manager for 12 starts in 1997-98 and then dempster played on the marlins when gonzalez was the third base coach. that hardly seems like a situation that would lead to them being BFFs.
  8. roy halladay and cliff lee should be put in a gulag.

  10. lol, favorite basket maker in the legion.
  11. Lineout to 2B in his 1st AB. Your hopes are dashed. yup, goldstein was right, he's not ready.
  12. (a) the 5/10 rule was collectively bargained (by union thugs, obviously). the players have the right to decline a trade under their agreement with MLB, and people shouldn't get their panties in a wad every time a player exercises their right to decline a trade. it's not ryan dempster's responsibility to get good prospects for the cubs. (b) ryan dempster has given the cubs more good pitching than the cubs have given ryan dempster money.
  13. what is with vitters' sudden spate of strikeouts? 17 in his last 11 games. i expect this [expletive] from brett jackson, but making contact is supposed to be the one thing that vitters does well.
  14. hey not any more. IU needs to schedule four non-con cupcakes, plus PSU should become an easy win. one more win and it's pizza bowl here we come!
  15. was starlin's fly out close to going out? just following along on gameday.
  16. i feel worse for the businesses in town that will be hurt by the football team going in the toilet for the next decade and the other sports that have been able to compete at a high level because the football program is so profitable. i didn't know any football players but i did know people who competed in some non-revenue sports, and i lived in state college for longer as a "local" than as a student, so i sympathize more with the local yokels and the athletes in non-football programs, who can't bail out without penalty.
  17. The audio on that was extremely good. Soler's HR yesterday also sounded incredible. IDK if it's something about the audio, but both of their HRs were LOUD. i think it's more the complete lack of people in attendance. any pitched ball coming in at 90 mph and then traveling 400 feet is going to make a loud sound on contact. you're probably just used to hearing home run balls in major league games where there's background noise of tens of thousands of people cheering and talking and what not.
  18. circled the bases in 18 seconds, jeez. take your time kid, soak it in 8-)
  19. trevor gretzky in for almora. injured or traded? also here is almora hitting a home run:
  20. DO IT DO IT DO IT edit - someone just did it
  21. who wants to see almora take a pitch and then hit a ground ball???
  22. apparently silas redd is considering a transfer to USC - or at least they're looking to recruit him to transfer. he should definitely go - if not to USC then somewhere else. he has the talent to play on sundays and shouldn't stick around on a sinking ship.
