  1. are they playing that team again tonight? if so he's going to get hit.
  2. that's certainly possible, but it's also possible that his mechanics (which have always been iffy) are even more out of what, and that's caused his velocity loss and horrible command. that being said, there's really no point trying to straighten out a pitcher who is going to be a free agent in two months.
  3. What the heck is his deal, anyway? there are two players mentioned in his post, which are you talking about?
  4. the cardinals have been top 3 in national league attendance for 8 years running. they have the 9th highest payroll this season. and they're lumped in with teams like the padres, pirates and rays. what a joke.
  5. inside the park HR according to the game log
  6. azl cubs faced starting pitcher michael ynoa (remember him?)
  7. it's amazing how hard he is to hit despite throwing so many fastballs. according to fangraphs, only 1 out of every 8 pitches from him is a breaking ball.
  8. logan watkins is 2-2 and has a .329/.430/.519/.949 line in his last 22 games. didn't he hit really well in the second half last year also, or am i just imagining that?
  9. ozzie recently called bryce harper unprofessional. because if anyone knows professionalism, it's a guy who spouts off expletives and homophobic slurs at his workplace.
  10. Or maybe you could just ignore them, and leave the moderating to the...moderators? your continued existence on this board suggests some failings in that regard.
  11. shhhhhhhh let's talk about those things AFTER he's traded.
  12. definitely no concerns about baez' power and it's nice to hear the positive scouting reports about his fielding. would be nice if he showed better patience though.
  13. lol james shields bombed again. i'm 2 bad weeks from becoming a seller at the trade deadline (if anyone is eager to acquire players who used to be good).
  14. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2012_07_15_altaax_akraax_1 altoona curve no-hit (but still got an unearned run). the pitcher who tossed the no-hitter? giovanni soto.
  15. yeah i don't think they'll be able to work out a trade without including some of those players, unless of course they work a third and fourth team into the deal.
  16. being a poor baserunner mitigates the value of any baseball player, not just third basemen currently not in the major leagues.
  17. the top 5 doubles hitters this year in major league baseball have a combined 19 stolen bases. doubles are for players who have power, not for fast runners. I just hope for Joey Votto's sake that he hits enough doubles that he still has SOME value left as a player once his lack of speed on the basepaths has chipped away at the good things he does.
  18. i like how everyone still talks about the cubs like the entire organization is starlin castro and then a bunch of filler.
  19. 60% of vogelbach's hits have gone for extra bases. going to be fun to watch that chubby bastard hit for peoria next year. hopefully we won't end up needing him (with rizzo hitting .310/.450/.900 every year for the cubs) and we can use him in a c.c. sabathia (matt laporta)/adrian gonzalez (anthony rizzo) type deal.
  20. in the second half? his line since may 1 is .333/.393/.631/1.023. he's been pretty good and i'm gonna stick with him as my wild card.
  21. the top 5 doubles hitters this year in major league baseball have a combined 19 stolen bases. doubles are for players who have power, not for fast runners.
  22. well yeah, if you compare him to only the aramis ramirez and miguel cabrera types, then of course he's going to look like an average baserunner for a 3b. a lot of guys who play 3b are more athletic (david wright, placido polanco, chone figgins) and are obviously going to be more productive on the basepaths than vitters.
  23. i'm playing a good team this week so i'm fine with leaving it as a 3-day week.
