  1. The refs have more than made up for it i'm not really saying it has only gone one way, just that the constantly spot the ball too far forward. when forte's arm hit the ground the ball wasn't even completely out. they probably give out an extra 50 yards a game on bad spots.
  2. the funny thing is that refs screw up these spots ALL THE TIME, but it only gets noticed when the guy is near the goal line or the first down mark. otherwise, nobody would've really noticed cutler getting an extra yard late in the first half, or forte an extra half yard there.
  3. i knew it would get overturned when collinsworth said he wouldn't overturn, because collinsworth is generally wrong about everything.
  4. why'd the bears use a timeout before the fg attempt when the clock was stopped?
  5. trammell should definitely have more votes. probably mussina too.
  6. the seahawks have had 5, broncos 4. what about the seahawks compared to every other team that isn't the broncos?

  9. howry had two very solid seasons before he turned into an old man and sucked. eyre had a career 1.5 whip when the cubs signed him; his 2005 season was just an extreme outlier. grabow also was lousy and had poor command. i always thought the whole "never sign relievers, they're unreliable" thing was bull [expletive] because there are some relievers who are good year to year. the issue is looking at moronic stuff like ERA when signing a reliever. if you want to bring in marginal pitchers like grabow or eyre, fine, but do it on a single year contract or one with an option year, not on a 3 year deal. that's what they did with shawn camp after a solid year and he turned into a pumpkin. you don't give guys like that multi-year deals.
  10. lmao, well maybe those clubs shouldn't have voted to cap the posting fee at $20m. or had they not considered the possibility that boning a rival club out of ~$30m might change that club's plans?
  11. man this Eagles game is going to be a hilarious comedy of errors. also, i passed like 400 accidents on the way to watch the game. when did people in this area turn into Atlanta or Dallas drivers when it snows?
  12. so here is an extremely unflattering article about the mariners' jack zdurnienik, or however it is spelled. http://seattletimes.com/html/mariners/2022420240_mariners08xml.html
  13. i'm fairly certain that statement is extremely false.
  14. lol what were the ohio state defensive ends/linebackers doing on that play? obviously the play is a handoff to the rb and probably going up the middle. they were running at the qb or wr like those were viable options. i know that most football players are stupid, but come on.
  15. it's funny, i really don't care about college football any more, but i still just really want ohio state to not win ever.
  16. i have no idea why the japanese clubs would agree to something like $20m when darvish just fetched upwards of $50m.
  17. went to that pats-broncos game, it was awesome. also really [expletive] cold.
  18. it seems like there are really a lot of hicks in stillwater.
  19. I don't think you can fault Ricketts for not following through on his renovation promises when his plans are approved by the city, and as far as I can recall are ready to go, but he's gotta fight rooftop owners and a piece of [expletive] Alderman who keeps trying to prevent them at all costs. I'm sure they've allocated funds for the renovations already, and all they can do is sit on it until Tunney and the scumbags lining his pockets play ball. a real chicago boss would find a way to make tunney "disappear"
  20. everyone who has athletic ability there plays rugby. soccer probably just gets the dregs of whoever isn't playing rugby or going mountaineering.
  21. ricketts should be commended for the attention he's paying to the stadium, which is long overdue, but bashed for not having the money to keep spending like a big market team while pouring money into the stadium. the previous ownership should be bashed for allowing wrigley to become dilapidated and for ignoring numerous revenue streams available to the club that other organizations have been taking advantage of.
  22. Vandy's reputation has definitely taken a hit these days, especially considering their rape scandal. jeez. well behave yourselves northwestern, you're our only hope.
  23. let's be honest, fsu cheats and probably half their players can't read, but the same could be said for almost any other top 10 team, and a crapload of teams whose illiterate, paid-off players just aren't doing as well. unless you're like northwestern or vandy it's probably silly to be pointing the finger at other programs.
