  1. I grew up firmly in the blue territory of New Jersey, so soda it is.
  2. Or just hit ctrl + Is that the keyboard shortcut? I was too lazy to experiment to figure it out. Yes, it is. And ctrl - fixes things back. That's cool Yet another reason why Firefox = awesome
  3. They haven't exactly been setting the league on fire in the entire history of the franchise, especially in the past few years. Katrina had very little to do with the fact that they're not putting a whole lot of talent on the field. They just plain suck this year. Yeah but there's losing, and then there's what this team is doing. Head coach is trying to quit but isn't being allowed by the owner... starting QB is benched for the rest of the season. They've been a traveling circus between Baton Rouge and San Antonio with poor practice facilities, and had a "home" game in East Rutherford, NJ. They have normally been at least somewhat competitive, but this year there's just too much going against them.
  4. You must be kidding. Do you actually think that most of these NASCAR drivers are actually in shape? Yes, some are, but a lot aren't. Round is a shape.
  5. I feel kind of sorry for the Saints... they have completely collapsed, and I don't blame them at all. There was no way that there could be success this year after Katrina.
  6. Agreed.... he very much sees himself as a RB and not a CB. If USC tells him that he's not likely to play RB there, then I think he will be in Norman next year.
  7. Maybe he just realized that Arkansas' football team sucks. Why would any big-time recruit want to play for them?
  8. No idea where the old thread is, and since the search feature is not available, time to start a new one so that all college FB discussion doesn't have to get dumped into the most recent week of college action. Penn State got a commitment this weekend from the #13 OLB prospect in the country (4 stars, according to Rivals.com). It's a pretty big pickup because he had been verbally committed to LSU. They also recently received a commitment from the #11 ILB in the country, another 4 star prospect. A 3 star running back from PA committed last week, so Penn State now has 11 commitments. A big announcement next week will come from the #3 DT in the country, who is down to Georgia, Florida and Penn State. And, the #4 OG, the #2 OT and the #1 CB in the country all have PSU among their top 2-3, so those will be big announcements as well. I especially hope PSU gets the offensively linemen, because the improvement of the OL was one of the main reasons the team did so well this year. A lot of the guys who played well this year are juniors and seniors, so they really need to get some good OL prospects to keep it going.
  9. Are you guys really going to able to outbid USC for his services?
  10. I was interested in this thread until I realized that the name after "Bruce" was "Levine" and not "Miles." I have to read more carefully.
  11. If Nascar is a sport (and it's not), then the cars are the athletes.
  12. Is poker a sport too?
  13. Gus Frerotte is a good choice, but don't forget Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinovich... neither of those guys was exactly a Rhodes scholar, to put it mildly.
  14. I was at work... unfortunately I forecast the weather for a living, so when there are major weather situations, it's even more important that I be there. If I can't make it there in the snow, someone from work has to come pick me up in a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
  15. Well if the results of this poll are any indication, this should be an awesome game... can't wait! I just hope both teams come out in the fine form that they were in to end the year... sometimes it is tough to shake off the rust after a month or more away from game action.
  16. Interesting that FSU has the highest APR score of ALL the BCS Bowl teams. Graduation rates are deceiving, especially for a school like Florida State where Juniors are lost every year to the NFL, counting against the graduation rate. But I'm sure that doesn't matter, since FSU having the most players in the NFL is worthless as an argument. I believe that Miami has more NFL players than Florida State... not positive, but I think I remember that being a trivia question that I answered correctly.
  17. Congrats to Joe Paterno and Paul Posluszny! Joe won Coach of the Year honors, which makes this a record fourth time that he has won this award. Poz won the Bednarik Award, presented to the top defensive player in the nation. Poz and DE Tamba Hali were also chosen for the Walter Camp All-America team. Poz is the 12th linebacker from PSU to be named an All-American, and is a finalist for the Butkus Award as well. Now, let's go out and win the Orange Bowl to put the appropriate finish to this great year!
  18. Looks like people are not too high on Florida State's chances...
  19. I don't really know how to do it, but I do think it would be a good idea to just take it offline until it can be fixed correctly. It's pretty aggravating having to keep trying to get onto this one, going to the other site, finding out this one is working, posting here for a few minutes, having this site break again, et cetera. If this place can't be reliable then I think the best thing to do is just to fix the bugs and then open it up again.
  20. Do they still have Larry Bird?
  21. No kidding. It's annoying enough that they get the best talent every year, but then they also get luck to win a home game against an average opponent. It's like when the Yankees get lucky, they really don't deserve it.
  22. Yup, Franchione was only one of two coaches to not vote PSU 3rd... the other was Houston Nutt (nice name), who voted Auburn 3rd.
  23. I don't know which coach it was, but I do know it wasn't Carroll, because he didn't have a vote in this year's poll.
  24. Charlie Weis also voted ND #4, ahead of Ohio State, even though Ohio State only lost to two of the top three teams in the country, and ND lost at home to a team that wasn't bowl eligible. And, Ohio State beat that same team at home. Conspiracy!
  25. Wow, a completely biased source writing something pro-ND and anti-other teams? Shocking! Perhaps it could be that those teams that played Oregon think that Oregon is a very good team and worthy of a ranking around #4? Everything doesn't have to be a conspiracy to thwart the great Fighting Irish, you know.
