  1. I root for the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers and Cubs. I was 5 when the Sixers won, I don't even like the NBA that much, and I don't even remember them winning that championship. I don't want to hear it from anyone who is a Bulls/Red Wings fan, I wish I had it so easy. Straight ticket philly except for mlb? what happened? My dad traveled a lot as a kid and never really had a baseball team that he rooted for regularly, but baseball was his favorite sport, and I guess he always kind of liked the Cubs. Then he went to University of Chicago for his PhD and was there for 5 years, and became a big Cubs fan. We moved to the Philly area right after I was born, and my dad didn't really have teams that he rooted for in the other sports, but he did bring me up on the Cubs. The others I was free to choose on my own, and naturally I chose the home teams. As for my dad, he is now a Sixers and Cubs fan mostly... I guess he will kind of root for the Eagles and Flyers, mostly for my sake.

  3. Man I am getting tired of changing the team I root for every week. Go Seattle.
  4. Isn't the jury still out? No, Eli Manning is a Manning, meaning he won't play well in the clutch. Rivers can't get on the field. Big Ben will have the best career, health permitting.
  5. Hey who was that guy who said that Roethlisberger would have a better career than both Eli Manning and Philip Rivers? Oh yeah, that was me. :D
  6. Haha, every relatively highly regarded recruit who commits to a MAC school is going to be the next Ben Roethlisberger or the next Omar Jacobs.
  7. Even better news... a 2 star QB from Arkansas is in the process of decommitting to Arkansas State and announcing his commitment to Miami. I can't imagine this would be happening unless they thought Devlin was as good as gone.
  8. I may just smash my head against the wall several times and attempt to knock myself out for a few years so that I don't have to listen to "Pittsburgh's Goin' To the Super Bowl" or "One for the Thumb"
  9. Don't worry, Florida will have a good seed going into the tourney and then get upset my some mediocre team, just like they do every other year.
  10. Go Not Steelers!
  11. By the way, Billy Packer might be the best "master of the obvious" announcer on TV. Not once, but twice within the last 20 seconds he states while Georgetown is up three and shooting the back end of a 2-shot foul, that it's a very important free throw. No crap, really? I'm surprised he didn't let us know that Paulus' turnover at the end was a costly one.
  12. Dukie V on suicide watch...
  13. If you think this is bad, watch a game at Cameron... it's like playing the Harlem Globetrotters. Hoya fans getting ready to storm the court! :D
  14. Go G'town!!!
  15. I'm wondering if there were more people there to root for the baskeball team or to do Pat Devlin chants and hold up Pat Devlin signs.
  16. Yep... Devlin is at the O$U-PSU game this afternoon, too.
  17. As someone who could care less about professional basketball and who isn't a Bulls fan anyway, yes.
  18. I don't care if he jumps off a cliff, but there is no way a guy who is basically a glorified ND booster should be allowed to be in a position of influencing high school kids who want a chance to play at an all-star type football game. By the way, I assume you saw this pretty big news today?
  19. If this is true, and if there's any such thing as karma, the Astros should have a bad 2006 season.
  20. I bet a lot of teams will "match up well" with the Cubs this year.
  21. Can you show me where guys considering ND were roomed with ND commits? Before the AA game there were only about 3 available spots left and Young and McCoy were the only ones who hadn't committed that were seriously considering ND. Well I have to admit that I just heard that, but here are the comments from Myron Rolle, one of the top recruits in the country this year: Lorenzo Booker said that Lemming made similary comments to him.
  22. To nobody's surprise, probably the most coveted OL prospect committed to the Yankees today.
  23. Haha, not exactly a who's who of perennial powerhouses here.
  24. Well I am starting to get excited about another recruit, which may end up being for naught. According to an article in the Miami Herald today, the Miami Hurricanes' top QB recruit is having second thoughts about his commitment to play there. The reason for his wavering is mostly due to the coaching situation at UM, with 4 coaches, including the QB coach there, being fired after the Peach Bowl debacle. He also attended the Penn State camps during the summer. So, I'd have to think that if he does not want to attend UM, that PSU would be his choice over Virginia. Several people have said that he will be visiting PSU on one of the next two weekends. This would be a big steal if he became a Lion, and probably give PSU a top 5 class nationally. EDIT - I just read a couple of other interviews of him immediately after the QB coach was fired, and he still sounded very committed to Miami... so obviously his commitment is not as solid. How much he is uncertain... that remains to be seen.
  25. and don't forget that Iowa nearly lost to Penn St. on Saturday. I am real confused on most of these teams in the Big 10. One game, some teams look like the class of the conference, the next they look like they could be in the cellar. The conference is pretty even this year and the winner of the Big 10 (probably Wisconsin) is going to have to be the best at protecting their home court. Penn State beat Purdont by 20 tonight, WTF?!?!? Penn State shouldn't beat anyone by 20, except perhaps a local girls' elementary school for the blind.
